Jesy's POV
Last night Eloise was definitely not going to sleep in her own bed, but after the success in getting her to eat her dinner, I wasn't going to push it but tonight I was going to try again and this time be a little more strict. I had found some tips on the internet during the day and I was hoping that she would give in, but I knew Ellie and she was stubborn, she wouldn't give in without a fight.
Me: "Right, girlies, bath time," I said coming into the living room and turning the television off. We had got ourselves in a bit of a routine now, come in from the studio, dinner if we hadn't already had it, 30 minutes of TV, bath time, quiet time and bed.
After the first bath times disaster a few weeks ago, Eloise was now a bath time convert. She had toys every night and we had made a deal that if she had a bath every time without complaint on a Friday, we would have a bath time disco. I had bought color drops that changed the color of the water, waterproof glow sticks and a disco ball. I would put some music on, turn the lights off and we would have a party. A few months ago, my Friday nights consisted of a club, cocktails and not getting in until the early hours but now a disco bath time was the highlight of my week, I couldn't help but laugh.
Eloise: "Can I have six toys?" she said sweetly. The rule was five toys or there wasn't enough room for the girls!
Me: "Nope, only five. Let me see," I said, looking at the pile of toys she was struggling to hold. "You had the coloring pens last time and made a mess all over the floor so you can't have those," I said remembering the incident a couple of days ago where she had thrown the red crayon on the floor and it being still wet and spread all over the floor. I was still trying to clean up the red marks from the floor.
She sighed but through the toys in and climbed in after them.
Me: "Good girl, what has happened to your sister?" I asked, she had come up at the same time as us but hadn't yet appeared in the bathroom. "Olivia, are you alright?" I called leaving my bedroom and going through to the girls.
Olivia: "I'm stuck," she said, struggling to undo the buttons on the back of her dress.
Me: "You should have called me, silly," I laughed undoing the buttons and lifting it over her head. "Your sister's already chosen the toys, you took too long," I joked going back through to the bathroom.
Olivia: "That's not fair," she complained.
Me: "You can choose them all next time," I compromised.
Olivia: "Okay," she agreed, smiling again as she joined her sister in the bath.
Me: "What has been your favourite thing about today?" I asked, I loved hearing what they said, often they loved the bits about the day, that I didn't enjoy as much. They could always find the magic in a boring day.
Olivia: "In my ballet class, we got to play a jumping game," she told us excitedly. She had already told me this at least 10 times and tried to explain the game but she either dissolved into fits of giggles or took so long explaining that I had forgotten what happened at the beginning. "And-and Jess!" she said splashing my slightly wanting my attention.
Me: "Hey! Don't splash, Livy." I scolded. "I'm listening,"
Olivia: "I'm going to be a ballerina when I grow up," she told me. She changed her mind at least twice a week about her future career, last week her class had been learning about space, so she was going to be an astronaut and the week before a pirate, I had absolutely no idea where that one had come from.
Me: "Oh! That's fun, you have to work really hard then! What about you Els?" I asked.
Eloise: "I played with 'Melia," she told me.
