Jesy's POV

It's been two days since Eloise napped in her own bed and the baby monitor I ordered from Amazon has just arrived, Eloise was scared that I wouldn't hear her if she woke up crying so I compromised by buying a cheap baby monitor that would allow me to hear her from wherever I was around the house. Jade is coming round tonight to help with the transition and we've all got our fingers crossed that it is going to work.

Me: "Eloise! Come and see this!" I called after I had set the monitor up on her bedside table.

Eloise: "What is it?" she asked coming into the girls bedroom and not seeing anything different.

Me: "Here, this. Come and sit here and I'll show you how it works," I said reaching out for her and sitting her next to me on the bed. "This is the special machine that I told you about so you can sleep in here at night time, this one will stay in here and this one will be in my bedroom so that if you wake up I'll hear you and I can come straight away without you having to come and get me," she looked curiously at the monitor listening intently.

Eloise: "Are you sure?" she asked taking the monitor from my hand.

Me: "Yeah, I'm sure, do you want to test it?" I asked, I had already tested it out myself making sure it did work.

Eloise: "Uh-huh,"

Me: "Okay, you stay in with this one and I'll go to my room, alright?"

Eloise: "Okay," she nodded enthusiastically, as I left the room with my half of the monitor.

A minute later, Eloise called my name softly through the monitor and I went back into her bedroom reassuring her that I had heard.

Eloise: "But how do I know?" she asked still unconvinced.

Me: "Umm- well you take my half and I'll speak into this one and you'll be able to hear me,"

Eloise: "Okay," she ran out of the room and I waited a few minutes before speaking into the monitor.

Me: "Eloise?! Can you hear me?!" A few seconds later she ran back through jumping on to her bed.

Eloise: "I can hear you! I can!"

Me: "I know! Isn't it clever?! So tonight, are you going to try to sleep in here?" I asked carefully.

Eloise: "Umm- I- uh- I," she said nervously.

Me: "It's okay, there is no pressure to sleep in here tonight at all. I know it seems scary at first but  I promise that it isn't as scary as you think and I know that you will be able to sleep in here, but if you're not ready tonight that's okay too. You just tell me when you're ready and then we can try you sleeping in here with Olivia," I said letting her take the lead.

Eloise: "C-can you st-stay with me?"

Me: "No, I can't stay, there isn't enough room, but you don't need me, I promise,"

Eloise: "Oh, b-but,"

Me: "It's okay to be scared when you're doing something for the first time, but sometimes when you're scared you can be brave, if we try tonight and you can't do it, it doesn't matter and we can try again tomorrow, but if we do try you can't cry and get really upset because that's not fair on your sister because she's sleeping too, yeah?"

Eloise: "Okay, I promise, tonight," she said nodding.

Me: "Good girl, I'm so proud of you for trying,"

I knew tonight was a good night to try, it's Saturday so if she doesn't sleep well we have nothing on tomorrow so it isn't a big problem, so that afternoon Eloise helped me make her bed and bring her stuffed animals that had made their way to my room and blankets across. We made it all comfortable and with familiar items and I kept by fingers crossed that it would go according to plan.
