Jesy's POV

Since the car accident Eloise has been ridiculously attached to her elephant, she has had him since she was a baby, he had never gained an actual name other than elephant and he was definitely feeling the wear and tear of five years of constant use. I had tried to wash him multiple times but she never let me, she had had to sleep without him one night because she had peed all over him and she barely slept waking me up at least every hour to ask me if the washer had finished.

She slept with him tucked underneath her arm and sucked the end of his tail which now looked like a ratty mess and while we had reached an agreement that she couldn't take him to school but anywhere else it was bound to cause a meltdown if I told her he had to stay at home. I had threatened previously when she had misbehaved that I would take her elephant away for the night, but I knew it was a completely empty threat, I was absolutely terrified about what would happen if I did. I was not and would never be ready for the tears, screams and lack of sleep that the two of us would get.

Despite my best seemingly never ending attempts, Eloise was still sleeping in my bed however tonight I was trying a new tactic and had ordered a sleeping bag to go next to my bed that was due to arrive at some point this morning.

The girls have the day of school today for a teacher training day so we were lying in, although my new lie-in only lasted until about half past seven when I woke up terrified of what will have happened between now and when the girls woke up which was rarely later than 7.30. I've just woken up now, but upon seeing the clock showing only 6.50am, Eloise still fast asleep on the pillow next to me, no smell of burning and no screaming Olivia, I rolled back over and fell asleep.

Olivia: "Ellie! Up! Come On!" I heard Olivia say a mix between whispering and yelling, barely awake I didn't quite register what was happening. Eloise still half asleep rolled over, eyes still tight shut.

Olivia: "Ellie! UP!" she said again, this time I felt Eloise wriggle underneath me and the stuffed elephant that was positioned between the two of us disappeared.

I heard Eloise whimper and not wanting a meltdown before 8am I reluctantly rolled over to face the girls and slowly opened my eyes.

Olivia: "NO! Ellie up!" I heard as my eyes adjusted to the light of my bedroom, closely followed by a loud sob. I sat up in the bed to see Olivia holding Ellie's elephant at arms length upwards clearly too high for Eloise to reach who was desperately holding her arms out for her and sobbing loudly.

Me: "UHH! Olivia Grace what do you think you're doing?!" I said quickly, lifting Eloise on to my lap in an attempt to calm the sobs although I knew that they wouldn't stop until her elephant was safe back in her arms.

Olivia: "I wanted Eloise to come and play and she wouldn't get up," she whined.

Me: "Eloise is tired," I said thinking back to last nights tears that took almost two hours to stop when I refused to go to sleep with her despite it barely being 8pm, "You can clearly see that she was asleep and it isn't very nice to take her elephant, you know how much she needs her elephant," I tried to explain, "You wouldn't like it if it was you, would you?" I scolded.

She shook her head in response and quickly handed the elephant in our direction.

Olivia: "Sorry Eloise," she said as Eloise snatched the elephant back from its thief and placed it against her face, tail already in her mouth. With the elephant returned safe, her cries slowed eventually to a stop.

Me: "Come on girlies, climb up here Livy and we can decide what you two want to do today!" I said letting Olivia snuggle into my other side.

Olivia: "Can we go to that fun place where we build the den?" she asked, I thought for a minute wondering where she meant before remembering the park we had been to with Leigh-Anne and her nephews a little while ago, we had taken a picnic, played in the fountains and build a den in the little wood area.
