Jesy's POV
In the last week, Olivia had come down with a bit of a cold so wasn't feeling great but she seemed to be doing okay and getting better. We're in the car on the way home from school now, the girls were quite happy in the back having a snack.
Olivia: "No Eloise, that's mine!" Olivia shouts reaching back to snatch a cookie from Eloise's hand.
Eloise: "Livy! No, you had more than me!" Eloise argues back.
Me: "Girls, No! Stop arguing!" I scolded, "Eloise, give the cookie back to Olivia," I said. I had put five mini cookies in a little container, thinking it would be easier than a packet of them, but clearly not.
Eloise: "That's no fair! She had more than me!"
Olivia: "No I didn't!" Olivia says annoyed.
Me: "Eloise, Olivia had exactly the same amount as you, give the cookie back to her," I scolded firmly.
Eloise: "Nope," Eloise decided promptly putting the cookie in her mouth and swallowing.
Me: "Eloise! That was really naughty, when we get home I expect you to go and sit in time out for five minutes. Give Olivia one of your cookies, please," I didn't often put the girls in time out, they weren't generally naughty but
Eloise: "But then she's got more than me!" Eloise says crossing her arms in her car seat.
Me: "No, don't argue with me. You ate one of Olivia's, so she can have one of yours. Give it to her please," I warned taking a deep breath, separating sibling fights was an ordinary part of my day. Instead of giving in and admitting that she had lost this one, Eloise tipped her pot of the remaining cookies on to the floor defiantly.
Me: "Eloise Isabelle! Pick those up and go straight to the corner!" I scolded loudly pulling in to the driveway. She grumbled as I unbuckled her car seat but knelt on the floor and picked up the remaining cookies, once she had done so she went to continue eating them.
Me: "Uh No!" I said taking the box away from her. "One: You are not eating off the floor and Two: you were naughty so you don't get snacks," I unlocked the door and pointed straight to the hallway corner, where the girls sat for time out. "Come on Livy," I gestured towards her giving her an extra few cookies to make up for the one Eloise had eaten and I was quite glad that she was eating properly again after having a smaller appetite with her cold over the past week.
I sat with her in the kitchen for a few minutes until we were interrupted by Eloise coming back in.
Me: "Excuse me, little lady! Turn around and go straight back to the corner, you were naughty," I scolded pointing back to where she was previously sat.
Eloise: "Why's Olivia got more cookies?!" she says ignoring my previous statement.
Me: "That doesn't matter, go back to time out, I'm starting your five minutes again," I decided, restarting the timer I had set on my phone.
Eloise: "But- Olivia's got more cookies, you said we had the same,"
Me: "Eloise! Corner now!" I said standing up from my chair. When she still didn't move and looked at me defiantly, I lifted her under the arms and physically placed her back in the corner. "Are you going to sit her nicely, or do I need to sit and watch you?!"
She mumbled a response but made no attempt to move so I decided to go back and check on Olivia, who thankfully wasn't fazed by her sisters yelling and was finishing her cookies oblivious.
Me: "Are you feeling alright, princess?" I asked lifting her on to my lap.
Olivia: "Yeah, my head hurts and I'm tired," she said resting her head against me.
