Chapter 12

Alex

I find Kara standing in the middle of the field. It's dark now as she didn't come home. She's been out here for almost 3 hours. As I walk around her I realize she's staring up at the sky, her face still damp, her eyes full of tears that refused to escape.

"Kara?" She doesn't look at me. "Kara!" I shout worriedly. She falls to her knees. I catch her before she could fall forwards. I pull her into a tight hug wrapping my arms around her. Her arms stay at her side and I can feel she's still staring up. "Kara I'm so sorry." I get no reaction. I can feel raindrops falling on us now. They get heavier and heavier until it's pouring. "Kara we have to go!" I say through the rain that has covered us both. She didn't even flinch.

"U can go. I need to stay here" I pull away from her looking into her eyes. Their dull with almost no colour and no emotion. She smiles at me. But it wasn't a normal smile. It was weird and lopsided and.....creepy. "Kara, why do you need to stay here?" I'm getting really worried.

"Because I know that if I leave it will all become real and I'll be able to feel again and realise what I've just lost. Alex he's gone isn't he?" I just nod. She bursts out crying and falls into my arms. She hugs me so tight I thing she's compressing my lungs.

"Hey it's gonna be okay" I start rubbing her back in big circles trying to calm her down. I've never seen her so upset. Our clothes are soaked through, our hair dripping like waterfalls. "Kara we really need to go" she nods at me. I help Kara up to her feet and walk her back to my Jeep. I sit her in the front passenger seat and strap her in. She's still staring straight ahead and she stays like that the entire journey back to her loft. I help her out of the car and up to her apartment. Throwing the keys onto the counter, I sit Kara onto the couch. She didn't move. Didn't take her eyes of straight ahead. Quickly, I pick out some Pajamas and help her into them. I try to stand her up to move her to her bed.

"No. I can't sleep there" she says. She almost sounds scared. And then I realized. Her bed was unmade. On one side of the bed on the floor was a collection of Mon-Els clothes that he kept at Kara's, scattered around. It looked like he didn't know what to wear when he was last here. He refused to stay at hers when she was at the DEO. His book was still open on his pillow to the page he stopped at. His glasses wear neatly placed on his bedside cabinet on top of his cook book. He had page makers hanging out of it that read 'make for Kara' that he never got to. Even his smell was in the room more than Kara's. I think she realized to as she smelt the air and starts to cry again. She walks over to her clothes rack and picked out one of his jumpers. She put it up to her face and crys into it. As I start to walk towards her, she puts it on. It's way to big for her but she doesn't care.  It flops off the ends of her arms and almost reaches her knees. I grab some blankets from the cupboard and sit down. She comes over and snuggles into me. I place the covers over her.

"Alex, will I ever see him again?" She looks up at me.

"I hope you do. We'll find a way. I'm sure he's out there trying to get back to you."

Mon-El

I can't bear to leave Kara. I try to see her as much as I can as I fly away. But I can't see her. I close my eyes. All I have now is her necklace and my love for her. She's always going to be in my heart. I'm going to find a way back to her. I open my eyes to see a bright blue circle open in front of me. It looks like a portal. I try to manually take over the pods controls but it's too late. I'm being pulled into this portal.

My pod crashes into sand. All I can see for miles is the same yellow grains. From behind my Pod two figures appear walking around the front. "Who are you. State your name and why you have come to this planet."

"My name is Mon-El of Daxam. I crashed here a couple of seconds ago." I say

"I saw him come through the boom tube which means he's the one we've been waiting for." One of them says to the other.

"Well Mon-El of Daxam u are now on War World. My name is Arden this is Luke." She gives me a hard stare.

"Welcome to the Legion of Superheroes"

Kara

I wake up to the sun rays beaming through my thin curtains. Alex is already up and making breakfast. I look over at my bedroom.

"Hey Kara you feeling better?" She sounds like she's trying to make the atmosphere happier, her tone high pitched and cheery.

"Yeah thanks." I say drearily. I'm not.

"Come sit" I do as she says and lift myself onto one of my bar stools. My muscles ache so much. I look over my table to see what she has made. There's bacon, toast, scrambled eggs, pouched eggs.... I choked up when I saw them. They were what Mon-El would make me. There was also coffee orange juice and all the other normal cooked breakfast things. We ate together until it was time for Alex to leave for the DEO.

"Kara, I've got to go into work"

"Great I'll come too"

"Are you sure you want too...."

"Yes" I interrupt her. I can't stay here. Especially not alone. "I can't stay here on my own."

"Okay" she replies by the time she opens my door for me I'd changed into my Supergirl outfit.

Mon-El

"Maybe you guys can help me" I say still really confused.

"Yes we can try." Arden replies.

"I need to get back to Earth. To my girlfriend." They look at my strangely as if I'm talking in different language.

"Mon-El you've never been through a boom tube have you?" Luke says.

"No why?"

"They transport you to other worlds and sometimes they can transport you into another time." Luke replies.

"What year is this?" I ask getting the hint.

"3031" Arden says. Seeing my reaction she looks at me worried and confused. I'm confused how one minute I can be in Earths atmospheres and the next be on a different planet more than 1000 years later. That means. Kara's died by now and I never got back to her.

"If you join the Legion of Superheroes we can take you back to Kara." How do they know Karas name?

A/N I know there's no one in the Legion of Superheroes called Ardon or Luke I just thought having names like Saturn girl wouldn't suit my story plus I don't like the name😂 I'm gonna have more random names for members of the Legion as well so sorry if that annoys anyone I just don't think they would fit the story.😇 This is just one of my theories about where Mon-El is going its probably the one i can write most about which I why I chose it. I would love to hear everyone's else's theories! Special shout out to my good friend @supergirlxkaramel.😘
