Your POV
I woke up and I yawned immediately.
I don't wanna leave this bed. I rolled over and I saw Laurence was sitting at the edge of my bed.
I screamed and I jumped out of bed.
"Good morning beautiful~" Laurence said in a flirtatious tone.
"We were in bed together!" I panicked.
"Did I? Did you? Did we?" I said really fast.
"No! No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! I just wanted to surprise you when you woke up! I just got here five minutes ago!" He explained. "Happy birthday!"
"I sure as hell am surprised!" I shouted.
"I heard yelling and I'm a guard so I came to investigate!" Travis came running in.
"Great. I got the two casanovas in my room." I cheered sarcastically.
"(Y/n) saw a cockroach." Laurence lied.
"LAURENCE!" I exclaimed. "YOU LIAR!"
I then explained to Travis what really happened.
"You know how to pursue a female." Travis complimented Laurence.
"What?!" I squeaked.
"I know right." Laurence agreed.
"It's creepy!" I yelled.
"Then why are you blushing?" Travis asked.
I stayed silent.
"I'm going to get my lady." Travis said puffing out his chest.
"Do you mean-"
"Yup!" Travis cut Laurence off.
"Oh no." I knew who Travis was talking about.
Travis walked out of the room.
"Travis! That's a bad idea!" Laurence warned.
"Let him learn." I sighed
"Hello pretty lady... me-owwwwww~" Travis flirted with Katelyn.
"*deep sigh* three... two..... one." I counted down emotionlessly.
When I said one there was a huge bang and a loud wince from Travis.
I sighed once more and left the house.
~•Time Skip•~
We got back to Phoenix Drop.
"I'm so happy to be back on land!" Katelyn yelled happily.
"Agreed." I stretched.
Dante came running up to us and reprimanded both of his children. I totally forgot that Dmitri doesn't know that Dante is his father. Both the kids walked to Dante and Kawaii~Chan's home.
"You gonna tell him or should I?" Laurence asked me.
I gave him a questioning look.
He sighed and announced, "Today is (Y/n)'s birthday!"
"Laurence!" I exclaimed.
"Not sorry. We should celebrate." He smiled.
"No we shouldn't. There are more important things than celebrating a useless day." I explained.
"Party's on hold till I get my answers." Dante said sternly. "WHY WERE THE CHILDREN WITH YOU?! AND WHY DID IT TAKE YOU FOREVER TO BRING THEM BACK HERE?!"
"HEY! DO NOT RAISE YOU VOICE AT ME!" I barked. "IT HAS BEEN A LONG TRIP!"
"I DON'T CARE! I WANNA KNIW WHY MY KIDS WERE WITH YOU!"
"YOU ARE NOT GOING TO CRUCIFY ME FOR PROTECTING THEM, AFTER THEY SNUCK ONTO OUR BOAT! YOU WON'T GET YOUR ANSWERS UNTIL I GET YOUR SILENCE!"
He flinched.
I cleared my throat and began explaining to Dante what happened as we walked to his home.
We were in the kitchen discussing important matters when he suddenly called Nekoette and Dmitri downstairs.
An emotional conversation went on between the three of them. Dante soon came clean about him being Dmitri's father.
"I hate you." Dmitri said bitterly.
He then ran out of the house.
"I'm going after him." Dante announced.
"No. I will." I said and I bolted in the direction of Dmitri.
Travis started following me.
Dmitri was sitting under a tree where Kiki's barn was.
Before I could move forward, Travis walked ahead of me.
"Hey." Travis said causally.
"What do you want?" Dmitri asked bitterly.
"Name's Travis. I don't think we've been properly introduced." Travis continued.
"I've heard you name." Dmitri stated.
"Ah, then we haven't talked personally yet." Travis said.
"I don't wanna talk to anyone." Dmitri said stubbornly.
"Not even your dad?" Travis asked.
"I DON'T HAVE A DAD!" Dmitri snapped.
"Shut up with that, will you?" Travis said.
"..."
"You have a father and he wants in be in your life. Appreciate that." Travis continued deeper into the conversation.
He was doing such a good job.
"Why does he only want to be in my life now? Did he leave because I was a bad kid?" Dmitri teared up.
"No, he probably didn't even know he had you. Trust me... he's better than my dad. Mine was never there for me and the first time we met he tried to kill me.. so there are worse situations out there." Travis said nonchalantly.
Travis shared a few more words with Dmitri. Travis then walked back to me and we both walked back to the safe hold.
I was talking with Dante about how Dmitri was doing and he was still worried for his son. Dmitri soon revealed his face.
He came running towards his father. They hugged and the moment was so precious.
I wish I had a family like that. A family who cared. I'm glad he wasn't too stubborn and shut Dante out.
Best birthday present ever.
