I rushed back to the dorms and jumped in the shower. When I got to the mess hall Jesse moved over to give me room to sit.
"What did Eric want?" He asked with his mouth full.
Damon looked up from his food at the mention of Eric's name.
"Nothing. Umm I sorta cursed him out at training today" I say laughing.
Jesse shakes his head at me while everyone else laughs. Well, excluding Damon. Caroline drops her fork in her plate.
"Kate!" She shrieked.
"Your never going to learn girl" Amanda snickers.
"Apparently not" I say softly.
Four approaches our table and asks how training was.
"Kate, can I talk to you for a minute?" He asked.
"Yeah, sure" I get up an walk off with Four.
"Everything go okay today?" He asked.
"It went fine"
"Eric give you any problems?"
"Nope" I lied.
I didn't want to tell Four I had punishment for cursing him out, especially after Four told me not to fall for his games anymore. Maybe deep down inside I wanted to play.
"Okay. Meet me at midnight by the sim rooms"
"Yes, thanks Four"
"You don't have to thank me Kate"
I gazed into his kind eyes and noticed how sad they were. Makes me feel guilty for lying to him.
"See you later then" he said before walking off.
I went back to the table to finish my dinner since I had a table full of knives to clean. I could feel someone staring at me, causing me to get goosebumps up and down my arms. My body freezes as my eyes lock with Eric's. He's standing up on the perch looking down at me. Was he watching me the whole time?
I quickly look away, loosing my appetite. I get up and leave without anyone noticing. When I got to the training room it was empty. It took about an hour to clean all the knives and I made sure they were spotless. Since I was in here with a table full of knives I might as well work on my knife throwing technique. I kept missing the target, boy was I rusty.
"I suck" I mumble to myself.
"You are holding the knife too tight"A voice rang out from behind me, causing me to drop my next knife.
Eric walked up to where the table was and picked up one of the knives.
"Huh, good job cleaning these. Maybe you get get a job as a cleaning lady after initiation" he teased.
I rolled my eyes as I picked up my knife and attempted to throw it. It finally hit the target but didn't stick. I felt his hot gaze on the back of my neck as he was staring at me.
"What do you want Eric?"
He walked closer and grabbed my hand as I picked up another knife, sending shock waves through my body. His eyes darted up to mine and held my gaze for a few moments before drifting down to my lips and then back to my eyes.
"Hold the knife like this." Eric instructed, tightening his grip on my hand.
"Throw" he ordered.
