I slowly open my eyes and see a female dressed in blue standing in front of me. As my vision comes into focus I realize it's Jeannie Matthews. I'm in Erudite; they finally got me.

"Hello Kate" Jeannie says monotone.

"What's going on? Why am I here?" I try to move but my arms are retrained onto the chair I'm sitting on.

"How much longer did you think you could get away with it?" Jeanine asks.

"What are you talking about? Get away with what?"

"Being Divergent. Don't worry Kate, it will be okay" Meghan enters the room and Jeanine walks over to her.

"Meghan!  Please, you have to help me"

Jeanine mumbles something to her before leaving the room and going behind a glass window. Meghan then places something above my head without saying one word. It was like she was being controlled. She pulls a chair in front of me and my father comes to sit in it. She then goes to join Jeanine.

"No, Meghan stop!" I beg.

I struggle against my restraints but it's no use, I am trapped.

"Daddy? What are you doing?"

The machine over my head makes a noise. My father looks at me "Are you Divergent?" He asks coldly.

If this is something to detect if I'm lying I can't let my heart rate or anything else elevate. I try to keep calm thoughts and think of something clever to say. I can't go down like this.

"Are you serious? How can you accuse me of that?" I shout.

"Are you Divergent?" He asks again, more persistent this time.

"I am Dauntless" I shout.

Jeannine's voice comes over a speaker "It shows she's speaking the truth. Try it again"

"Are you Divergent?"  Henry asks angrily this time.

"No, I'm Dauntless, now let me go!"

Henry looks over at Jeanine who is still standing behind the glass.

"Plan B" she says.

Plan B?

Suddenly my chair is tilted back and someone from behind me straps my head to the chair. A metal object is lowered from the ceiling in front of me. It looks like a dentist's light. I start to panic.

"W-What are you doing? Let me go, I've done nothing wrong!  Get Eric, please!  He will vouch for me" I shout.

"Vouch for you?  Who do you think turned you in?" Jeanine says smirking.

"W-What? No!" I knew I shouldn't have trusted him.

My father places something over my right eye to hold it open. A needle slowly comes out the middle of that light in front of me, heading straight for my eye.

"Oh my God. No! Please, stop" I beg.

"No one can help you" Jeanine says with a smirk.

Just as the needle is about to touch my eyeball I hear a phone goes off. I suddenly wake up and I'm laying on my couch, panting heavily and sweating. I'm not in Erudite, I'm still in my apartment.

"It was a dream" I say to myself, trying to calm down and catch my breath.

It didn't happen. Eric didn't turn me in to Jeanine and I wasn't about to die. Tears start to fall from my eyes. I was terrified. Sooner or later Jeanine was going to get me. I needed protection, something to guarantee my safety.  I heard Evelyn's voice in my head.
