I wasn't sure what time it was when my phone rang. Reaching onto my night stand I grabbed my phone and saw it was Max calling.

"Max?" I moaned half asleep "Hello?"

"Kate, I hope I didn't wake you"

Well, you did.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"I need you to come down to the pit ASAP" he said before hanging up.

I looked at my clock and saw it was 2am. Was he serious? What could he possibly want at this hour? Eric expected me to be in the training room at 6am. I threw my phone towards the end of my bed before laying back down and starring up at the ceiling. It was hard to get out of bed but I somehow managed.

Since I was wearing only a t-shirt I put on a pair of back leggings and grabbed my combat boots on the way out. A sudden fear washed over me as I got onto the elevator. What if Max knows about me and this is a trap? What other reason could he have to call me down to the pit at this hour?

As the elevator doors opened I slowly walked off. Looking around I noticed no abnormal activity. If Max wanted to kill me he would just do it, he wouldn't lure me down to the pit. I started to calm down by my rationale. Walking to the pit I spotted Max right away talking to some red head. Okay, so I was right, this wasn't a trap to lure me down here. Max excused himself from the girl when he saw me approaching.

"Kate, thanks for coming down.  I have an order for you" he said placing his hand on my shoulder. My gaze moved from his hand to his face.

"What could you possibly need at this hour?" I asked, trying not to sound nasty.

He smirked as his eyes shifted to something behind me "Eric. He's had too much to drink and I need someone to bring him home"

I turned around to where Max was pointing and sure enough, I saw Eric with Donovan, Xavier and a few other girls. He was sitting in the booth barely holding the half empty glass of amber liquid in it. I thought he would be with Val the skank.

"What does this have to do with me? Why can't any one of them take him or you for that matter?" I ask annoyed.

"Because I'm the head leader in this faction and as you can see I'm busy" he motioned towards the red head.

What a disgusting pig.

"I doubt the others would get him home, they look busy as well" he said smirking.

They are all disgusting pigs. His hand on my shoulder tightened and his expression became more serious "Besides, your his assistant"

"Well being his leader and friend you shouldn't have let him get to that point" I huffed.

"Watch it, Kate. I'm not his babysitter and I'm surely not the one to stop him from drinking. All I want from you is to take him home without any tantrums on your side. Now go" And just like that he dismissed me.

"Asshole" I mumbled and started walking toward the table, leaving Max behind without even a second glance.

When I approached the table everyone looked up at me. Everyone besides Eric.

"Kate, come to join the party?" Donovan asked with a hint of excitement in his voice. The girls rolled their eyes at me.

I shook my head "Not tonight boys. I'm here to take this one home" I pointed at Eric, who didn't even acknowledge that I was here.

"Yeah, I think that's a good idea. He's totally shitfaced" Xavier said.

"That's two days in a row" I stated.
