Kate's POV

I open my eyes to the rays of the new rising sun seeping through the blinds. At first I was confused to where I was, but it wasn't long before the memories of last night flooded my mind, reminding me how complicated my life had become. I gave in to Eric as I always do.

I can no longer deny Eric makes me feel things I never thought I could, at least physically. Our sexual chemistry is to the point of being explosive, but that's all this is. Sex. Nothing more, I tell myself firmly. Jax's face and my guilt rear up again, though I desperately try to push both away from me.

I turn on my back and see that Eric wasn't in bed, I was alone. I sit up, sleepily rubbing my eyes and pulling the covers over me. The apartment is as cold as ever, but Eric's bed is warm, and I am reluctant to get up.  But I have to. I'm supposed to meet Four in the training room since I've been avoiding him for days now.

"What time is it anyway?" I say to myself.

I glance over at Eric's alarm clock and see its 6:45am. Shit, I'm supposed to meet Four at 7. Just as I'm about to get out of bed Eric walks out of the bathroom fully dressed in his training gear. My stomach sinks at the sight of him, handsome as ever. His gaze falls on me and I freeze.

"I have meetings all day today" he informs me, his voice even and hard.

My head drops, my stare falling to the sheets where hours ago we did some unspeakable things. Things that made me ache between my legs when I thought of them. I can hear him moving around, the heavy thud of his boots loud in the otherwise quiet room.

"I should go too, I'm training with Four" I say clenching the bed sheet around me as I get out of the bed to look for my clothes.

I search the floor but instead find them neatly folded on the armchair. I go into the bathroom and start to dress, only to find Eric standing in the doorway starring at me. He has this look on his face I can't explain.

It scared me.

"Eric, is everything okay?" I ask concerned.

He stood there silently for what felt like ages before speaking.

"Yeah. Hurry up and get dressed" he says before turning to leave.

Something definitely wasn't right with him this morning, but then again this is Eric we are talking about. He's an enigma.

Since I had no time to shower and wash last nights sweat off my body, I quickly dressed and laced up my boots. Then I pulled my hair up in a high bun. As I walk into the kitchen I see Eric leaning against the counter while reading his tablet. He doesn't acknowledge me as I walk past him towards the door. I want to say something, ask him what his deal is.

But I don't bother.

Instead I hastily open the front door and slam it shut behind me.

I rushed to the training room to find Four, Lauren, Jesse, and Dylan already warming up.

"Well look what the cat dragged in?" Dylan snickers.

I quickly put my stuff down and joined the group "Hey guys. Sorry I'm late"

Four doesn't acknowledge me. Instead he gets right to training, beginning with a run around the city. Looks like I have two men in my life acting like douch bags this morning. I didn't blame Four though since I've been MIA.

After our run we did a little weight training then some sparring. As Dylan and Jesse were on the mat Four stood next to me watching.

"Where have you been?" He asked, his voice monotone.
