Chapter 35 (The Next Day)

Eric's POV

The evening before. . .

Ryker wanted to talk so I told him to meet me at the leaders table in the mess hall when he got off of work. Quite honestly I didn't want to see the fucker, he pissed me off last night. Did he really think I would take advantage of Kate in the state she was in?  I may be a bastard but I'm not a fucking bastard.

"Hey bro" Ryker sat down across from me.

"Ryker" I acknowledged him.

"About last night. I was drunk and wasn't thinking" he said as I drank my coffee.

I merely just stared at him. He had the pills on him which means it was his plan all along.

He's full of shit.

"Your telling me you normally go around drugging girls in order to have sex with them?" I asked clearly annoyed.

Ryker just sat there trying to come up with a good answer. I know how his mind works.

"Or just the ones who don't give a fuck about you?" I added.

"You said you wanted to fuck her. I was just trying to help you out"

"I don't need to drug girls in other to fuck them! What's wrong with you?" I hissed.

"Please Eric, you really want to go there? Your no saint" Ryker spat back. 

"What did you just say to me?" I said angrily.

Things were getting heated and I could tell Ryker regretted his words. Unlike Dylan I don't let him get away with shit.

"It won't happen again" Ryker hissed.

"That's right it won't happen again. You don't talk to her, you don't look at her, and you don't even think about her. Do you understand me?"

"Whatever you say oh fearless leader" he said sarcastically.

Ryker's facial expression changed.

"Does she know?" He asked nervously.

"Well she's been asking questions. She's bound to figure it out, she is Erudite after all"

"Eric, she can't know that truth. She'll go to Max and I'm done for. My reputation will be tarnished" Ryker said so only I can hear him.

"You should have thought of that before"

Ryker grew pale and started to sweat.

"You would really let that happen? To me out of all people?"

"Guys, what's up?" Dylan said smacking my back.

If there was anything Dylan was good at, it was sneaking up on people.

"Touch me again Dylan" I warned.

Ryker looked towards the crowd as Dylan sat down.

"Did I interrupt your little lunch date?" He said laughing.
