Kate's POV

"Where are we going?" I say giggling.

"You'll see" his voice sounded deeper than usual.

Being a bit tipsy I nearly fell forward. Good thing Eric caught me before I could fall.

"Whoa, I got you princess"

He holds me tightly around my my waist while we walk through the pit, his body heat engulfing me.

"Eric, your so hot" I say without thinking.

"Yes, I know" he openly admits.

"Wait, no that's not what I meant. I meant your body is so hot"

"I work out everyday"

"Shit. You know what I mean" I shriek.

"Yeah. You think I'm hot" He teases.

I roll my eyes, cocky bastard. We pass the elevators that lead up to the apartments and walked up to the one that read "Authorized Personnel Only"

That leads up to the leaders lounge on the rooftop. Why is he taking me up there? When the elevator doors opened he leads me inside, his strong arm still wrapped around my waist. I couldn't even explain the reaction my body was having to him holding me. My heart was pounding like a jack hammer. Apparently Eric felt it too.

"Nervous?" He asks.

"Noooo" I say all coy.

Yesssss!

The doors finally opened and the spacious rooftop was lit up with clear white lights. I almost forgot how beautiful it was up here.

"What are we doing here?" I ask curiously.

He leads me over to the lounge area that overlooked the entire city. He takes out a box of cigarettes from his jacket pocket and lights one of them.

"Having a private party" he tells me as he lights it.

The bright moon lit up the dark sky as the fresh air rushed by and nipped at my face. It felt nice.

I cautiously sit on the ledge with my legs dangling over. Not such a good idea in my condition. But hey, I'm Dauntless.

Well, almost.

"The city seems so peaceful from up here" I say softly.

I could feel his knees touch my shoulder blades.

"Why don't you have a seat?" I nod towards the empty space next to me.

He just stands there. Maybe he's contemplating whether to end my life and push me over. Maybe it was his plan all along, bringing me up here. I lean back into his knees, if he's going to push me over I'm taking him with me.

"Afraid your gonna fall, princess?" He teases.

"No, jerk. Unless you plan on pushing me" I say with a mocking smile hanging on my lips.
