Innocence Lost

Chapter 4 (Day one)

The next morning we are woken up by Four, banging a steel pipe against the railing of the stairs that enter the dormitory "Everyone in the Pit in two minutes. If your late then don't bother showing up" he stated loudly before he turned to leave.

We all wake up, groggy. "Did he just say two minutes?" Tyler says in a raspy voice. 

I stirred as the lights were turned on but I seriously didn't want to get up. Nearly everyone dropped back onto their beds. It was way too early and our wake up call hadn't been the nicest. There was a loud thump across the room, James had fell out of his cot.

"Shit!" He screeched.

Tyler quickly laughed.

"It's not funny" James whined.

As I get up to change I noticed I developed a bruise where Eric had grabbed me the day before.

"Great" I whispered to myself.

"How did that happen?" Caroline notices my bruise.

"Umm I think from when they were carrying us last night" I didn't want to tell her what happened with Eric.

I ran to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face quickly. I made sure to grab my jacket then laced up my boots as fast as I can since I was already dressed. Jesse quickly dresses and is already good to go. He pushes me up the stairs laughing.

"Move it slow poke"

As we walked out into the hallway I found that no one was speaking. I guess no one is used to getting up this early. While walking I make a side braid in my hair since I'm short on time. My stomach is growling now, I wish I ate more at dinner. We all finally make it to the pit and join Caroline and Thomas.  Everyone else comes running in not long after us.

"Morning sweetness.  Did you get much sleep after your girl talk last night with pretty boy here?" Thomas jokes.

Caroline lightly punches his arm, giggling as I roll my eyes. The Dauntless born are there before us, laughing and goofing around.  They are so full of life. Hector and Damon walk over to us.

"See you guys survived your first night" Hector and Jesse pound fists.

"Now you have to survive your first day" Damon chimes in, putting his arm around my shoulder, making me blush. I really need to get used to all this touching. Four and Lauren make their way over to us.

"Transfers, a few ground rules.  Training starts at 8 sharp until 6 with an hour break for lunch.  I suggest you make it to the mess hall for breakfast early enough so you are not late. If you are late there will be consequences.  After 6 you are all free to do whatever you want inside the compound.  You're only allowed to leave the compound with a Dauntless member accompanying you, Dauntless born initiates don't count" Four explains.

There was snickering coming from the Dauntless born. Lauren glares over at them and they quickly shut up.

"You are also given a certain amount of points each week to buy whatever you need.  Once you become full members that will go up according to which job you are given"

I notice Eric is leaning against the wall behind Four, typing something into his tablet. Amanda nudges me as she nods in his general direction. I couldn't help but stare, its ridicules how big this man is.  He looks up real quick, catching my eye. He didn't seem to be bothered by anyone's stares, let alone mine.
