The tip of my pencil glided smoothly against the paper, creating small, scraping sounds as the markings gradually filled in details of the new dress I was designing, mixing elements of plants with the morbid structure of bones in various different ways to get a sense of what I liked. I tried to imagine the colors, the deep greens of ferns and the creamy white of bone, or perhaps black and a starker white would be better? I experimented with flowers of several different types, pondering patterns of the skirt of the possible accents of embroidery around the torso. Would it look better with ruffles? Maybe long sleeves...
My mind was buzzing with ideas today. This is the third item I've worked on, and it was obvious I was going for a theme. On the previous pages of my sketchbook, I had drawn a headband fit with branch-like antlers, which would act as a frame to hold a web of dark string accentuated with shiny beads, or fake gems, or feathers and trinkets. I was still a bit indecisive on the decoration, but I liked the model. As for the other product, I played with the shape of a deer, turning it into a plushie with simplified, skeletal features, much cuter than that awful thing I saw last night in my dream.
