Chapter 6

"Congratulations on your win, Kaira. Then again, we all expected it," Pauline congratulated, clapping in mock applause. "But what was that thing you guys pulled at the end..?"

"...it won't happen again," Kaira stared at the warden, the glint in her red eyes gone. "...Pauline, please allow Saiko to move back. I promise we'll never disobey again... In fact, I'll be a better warden with her here. Please. I'm begging you."

"Hmm..." Pauline tapped her chin. "I'll tell you what. If you can coach the newbie to win the next fight, I will allow Saiko to come back. But keep in mind... I'm raising the difficulty of the monster. If she loses...."

"She'll win. No matter what."

"Daisy, get up!" Kaira bellowed. "We're beginning your extensive training today!"

"Wh..at?" Daisy muttered, still half asleep. "Training..? Mom... Go away."

"Who...came in here to.. Wake me up.." Rosalina growled, but looked at who it was and fell silent.

"Daisy, Pauline told me that your next fight will be much more advanced. I'm buying you a present. Come on, let's go!"

Kaira dragged the still half-asleep Daisy out of the room, slamming the door behind her leaving a very irritated Rosalina.

"What I would do... For some sleep."

"What do you want? Swords, lances, axes? Anything! Pick something you'll be competent with!" Kaira shouted.

"Please... Its still early," Daisy pleaded. "Can't I have two more hours..?"

"No! Hurry up and pick, or I'll make your training later more extensive!" Kaira said.

"Um..." Daisy looked through the selection. "Uh... What would you suggest?"

"...hmm.. It's a good thing I called Toadette to help," Kaira mused. "Here she is."

"Can't believe you made me come here this early," Toadette muttered. "Oh well, I understand your reasoning. What do you need me for again?"

"What type of weapon should Daisy get?" Kaira questioned. "Keep in mind shes a beginner."

"...hm," Toadette thought. "How about a sword? Rapier, perhaps? It'll have more range, and it might be a little heavier- but I mean, she looks strong, so..."

"Good idea," Kaira nodded in approval. "What do you think, Daisy?"

"Yeah.. I think that's good. The only issue is..." Daisy hesitated. "I don't have a lot of LP. I can't afford that."

"What did I tell you earlier?" Kaira shook her head. "I'm getting you a present. Pick one with a reasonable price range."

"Seriously!?" Daisy smiled. "Thank you!"

Before long, Daisy had a nice long rapier. It was thin- and as Toadette had said, a little heavier, but Daisy could handle it. Daisy's jaw dropped as Kaira handed over five thousand LP to pay for that.

"Oh my, thank you so much!" Daisy exclaimed. "You're the best."

"I just don't want you to die out there," Kaira responded. "Your training starts soon. Meet Toadette, Dixie and I in the training hall in thirty minutes. Got it?"

"Yup!"

"...and please, do not break that."
