"Code Red! Everyone, get inside!" Pauline's voice echoed through the hallway. "Unless you want to die!"
"Not this time," Daisy muttered. "I'm going to figure out what is going on, right now!"
"Daisy, that's a suicide mission!" Luigi cried out. "This is... we are going to die if we do this. Just get back inside."
"No. I'm sick of everyone cowering and hiding. We're going to figure out what's happening! We just allow a massacre every time there's a code red. This has to stop."
"And who are we to stop that?" Luigi sighed. "I totally agree with you, but... Daisy, you and I aren't the strongest here. I don't say it to be mean, but... Kaira and Saiko get beat up from fighting! We'll be obliterated."
"Maybe," Daisy called over her shoulder. "But at least I'll die trying."
"No... I don't think so..." Rosalina rounded the corner, surprising Daisy as Rosalina grabbed her wrist, and dragged her back into the cell. "Stay put.."
"No!" Daisy couldn't break free of Rosalina's grip, which irritated her. "I won't watch as people die!"
"Then you will die," Rosalina hissed. "My priority... is keeping you safe right now."
"Well, if you want to keep me safe, you'd come with me," Daisy huffed. "I'm leaving, one way or another."
"Not if I... have anything to say about it.." Rosalina persisted. "I've lost... people to Satsuki. I don't... Want to lose you too..."
Daisy looked away. She didn't know what to say to that. But she knew that it was destiny- it was her fate- to go figure out what was going on, right now.
"...I'm sorry, Rosalina.." Daisy sighed. "I'm sorry..."
"I..."
"I'm sorry, Rosalina-"
Daisy's hand reached upwards, and vines wrapped around Rosalina's hand, forcing it away from Daisy. Daisy quickly ran out as Rosalina freed herself, Luigi running after her.
"Daisy! You're going to die like this!" Luigi called after her.
"So why are you following me?" Daisy countered. "I'm going to be fine!"
There was doubt in her voice, but Daisy tried to keep her cool. She knew she was walking into certain death- but she was so curious...
"Daisy-!"
"Look, Luigi," Daisy sighed. "I'm going to help everyone, or I'm going to die trying. That's fact, alright?"
"I'm worried you will die trying!"
Curiosity killed the cat, Daisy thought. I'm not a cat, though... so maybe it'll work out?
"I'm sorry Luigi... but you can't stop me. I can't let this happen anymore."
"Fine. Then I'm coming with you."
"You're sure?" Daisy checked.
"Well, I'm not going to let you die alone," Luigi sighed. "You might as well have some backup."
Daisy smiled gratefully.
"Thank you."
"Wait..!" Rosalina finally rounded behind them, but by then, it was too late. They were gone.

"Satsuki, oh Satsuki," Mario shook his head. "Have some restraint this time, alright?"
The girl laughed as she buttoned her black cloak.
"You ask for too much. I need to kill."
"Yes, but.. ugh. We still need people here, you know."
"Oh, I'm well aware," She cocked her head. "I'm just rooting out the weak ones, to say. Or rather, the stupid ones who don't follow the code Red and think they can fight me."
"Fair enough," Mario shrugged. "Just do your best to leave some remaining, alright?"
"Fine," She laughed. "But if they're in my way, I'm going to cut them down."
"Have as much fun as you want."
Satsuki pulled her hood up so it covered her face.
"Trust me. I will."

"So what exactly is our plan here?" Luigi asked as he followed Daisy. "Do we have one?"
"Not really," Daisy shrugged. "We pretty much just have to find her. That can't be that hard, considering she'll be on us soon, if she kills everything in the halls."
"You make this sound so easy," Luigi sighed. "Are you going to talk to her or something? Cause... I don't think that's going to work. She doesn't sound like a very peaceful person, you know."
"Well... You never know," Daisy said. "Maybe she had a change of heart."
"If they're calling a code red, I highly doubt it," Luigi muttered. "But alright. What are you even going to do?"
Maybe she's trapped here too."
"Or maybe she's working with them to kill us all off," Luigi countered. "...I'm sorry, I'm being really pessimistic."
"Yeah," Daisy said simply. "To be honest, there isn't much to be positive about. So you're really justified about it."
"I know... but still," Luigi sighed. "I'm just scared for us, Daisy. So many things could go wrong here."
"Well... at least we can die together," Daisy chuckled, trying to make light of the situation. "We'll be okay."
"Are you sure?"
"No," Daisy sighed. "But I can hope."
"Oh... have more children come to play?"
The two turned around to see someone with a black cloak on. Their face was hidden, but the one thing they could see was a giant, sadistic, smile.
"Aha...ahahahah!"
Oh shit.
Hey everyone! I had a really random thought about how I really like how I'm writing Luigi's character in Distance... anyway.
Not entirely proud of that drawing. Just wanted to get you guys a visual.
Is everyone going to die now?
Thanks for reading everyone!
