Chapter 16

"That was very exhilarating.." The killing princess sighed. "All of them, slayed... Easily."

"We're not going to have any more prisoners at this rate," the leader told her. "Your rampages are allowed, just not that often."

"You better put me in the arena soon, then," The girl licked her lips. "I'm itching for a kill."

"Calm down, calm down," the leader put his hands up. "I'll put you in. Just don't go on another killing spree. We do need people here still, y'know."

"Fine, fine..." The girl grumbled. "But I make no promises."

"There's a newbie. I need you guys to go-"

"Wait... You mean the leader seriously put him in here?" Kaira questioned Pauline. "Isn't he-?"

"Yes," Pauline snapped. "Calm down. It's not like he'll hurt you- even if he wanted to, he couldn't. I'm not even putting you guys in charge of training him."

"When do you ever put us in charge of training anyone...?" Kaira shook her head. "So Dixie and Toadette, then?"

"No... I think the newbie's got this one," Pauline smirked.

"Which one? Isn't there like a million?" Saiko asked curiously. "Oh, Saiko heard that a girl with neon pink hair is here! Saiko wants to see!"

"Maybe later," Pauline denied. "But to be clear, im talking about Daisy."

"Oh, of course," Kaira looked at Pauline. "Of course."

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Pauline questioned suspiciously.

"I thought she wasnt special..?"

"Get out of here, you two!" Pauline snapped, pushing them out. "Just go do your job and welcome him and direct him to her room!"

"Got it! Ooh, Kaira, can we get some sushi after? Saiko loves sushi?"

"Sure, sure, whatever."

"Where even am I..?" A shivering boy was despairing as Daisy once had. He'd been brought to a strange pink creature who he thought was going to kill him. Instead, the creature with the bow had merely handed him off to two people- a girl with light blue hair and severed handcuffs and one with dark red hair and her right eye scarred shut. They both looked menacing in a different way- the redhead looked downright frightening and the other just looked purely insane. She kept grinning out of nowhere.

Needless to say, he was terrified.

No one answered his question so he asked it again.

"He didn't say anything about this... Where am I?"

"Can you please just shut up?" The redhead sighed. The boy flinched as she rubbed her head. "I've had a pounding headache all day."

"Aw, is Kaira okay? You can go back to the room, Saiko will take him," the bluenette offered.

"It's fine.. Besides, we need to see how well he interacts with Daisy anyway."

"Wait- Daisy? This is the same place Daisy is?" The boy asked. He was once again ignored as the three continued down the hall.

Kaira opened the cell door and pushed him in. He fell forward, catching himself at the last moment. A girl with platinum blonde hair and a blue dress on her bed stared at him slightly. The boy's attention shifted to the person he was looking for.

It was Daisy- dressed still in orange. In fact, she looked almost better than ever- she wore an orange dress and a gold crown similar to the other girl. She did look a lot like a princess...

"Daisy," he croaked. "Where are we...?"

"Oh my gosh," Daisy breathed. "No, no, no. Not you, too..."

"Oh, so Pauline was right? You know him?" Kaira questioned. "No wonder she was so interested in you."

"...I know him..." Rosalina said under her breath as her eyes widened.

"Why are you here..?" Daisy asked. "No, don't tell me... You're... You're one of us?"

"I don't know what you mean," the boy responded. "One of you...? What happened to you?"

Almost in an instant, everyone's powers triggered as they went to show him. He stared in shock as icicles surrounded him, vines rose from the ground, and a black hole was in the ceiling. Kaira just stood there awkwardly as her power required bloodshed in order to work.

"O-oh-.." The boy's eyes widened. "W-what-"

"I'm sorry... You're one of us now," Daisy sighed. "You don't belong here... Why'd they drag you here?"

"I don't know.." The boy confessed. "Why are you here?"

"...for the same reason as you... Because of these powers." Daisy sighed. "Isn't that obvious, Luigi?"

Sorry, this chapter is a little under what I usually have. I wanted to post this because of the cliffhanger.
