Chapter 7

"Tomboy Trouble now goes into our special arena- facing against several enemies this time! Today she'll be underwater- facing... Blooper and Cheep Cheep? Oh dear. She's a newbie. I hope this ends well... Or not!" The announcer shouted.

"Underwater?" Daisy's mouth dropped as the arena quickly filled with water, save the area she was standing on.

"Ready... Fight!"

Alright, remember all the training they game me in the past two weeks, Daisy thought. I have to win this!

"Blooper makes his appearance!" The announcer said.

A giant squid began swimming at her at a fast pace. Instead of panicking like normal, Daisy concentrated all of her power into stopping it.

Seaweed entrapped the Bloopers tentacles, stopping it in its tracks. It began to throw ink at Daisy, and Daisy dodged deftly as she attempted to find the Cheep cheep.

It was swimming menacingly next to the blooper. Daisy's attempts to ensnare it in seaweed was useless because of the Cheep cheeps' speed.

The blooper finally freed itself of its trap, and now both creatures headed towards Daisy. Now Daisy panicked, but only slightly.

Could I manage to manipulate the earth? I've never been able to do it before despite all the practice.. No. It's too risky.

A large daisy appeared, acting as a shield to their attacks. The blooper threw its ink, but nothing was affected.

The Palm tree burst out of the sand, and fell, acting as a cover for Daisy to move. While the cheep cheep was still looking for a way into the island, Daisy climbed atop the fallen Palm tree and began running. She created a large flower to stop any attacks from the blooper while jumping onto the cheep cheep.

Her rapier sliced it's tail off cleanly, and the cheep cheep squealed in pain. Daisy jumped off and swam away as another Palm tree fell onto the cheep cheep.

"The cheep cheep is stuck! Now all Daisy has to do is kill it!" The announcer shouted.

However, Toadette had told her this tactic multiple times.

When fighting many enemies at a time, always take on one at a time. It's ridiculous to fight a million if you're not accustomed to fighting that way. Trap one, and then kill the other.

Daisy grit her teeth as she was hit by the blooper's tentacle. She flew across the arena, landing on the shore.

Can't die here..

What's the point of living here anyway...?

"If you give up, I'll kill you!" Kaira growled. "Keep fighting, you thick skulled idiot!"

Right... Maybe I can do this... Maybe I can do it to make it out alive. Maybe I'll make it out alive. Maybe I'll get to see Peach again..

That alone was enough to persuade her- and also distract her. The blooper's tentacle wrapped around her body. Just as it was ready to insert her in its mouth, she took a big risk.

"Oh ho! It seems that Daisy has learned a new power!"

Soil encased the blooper, holding it still as vines peeled its tentacle off of her.

Well, it's not the earth... But I don't think I can do the earth, so this is good enough for me.

She sliced its tentacles off, and the soil crumbled off of it. A large mushroom acted as a bounce- she jumped on it and sprung up- slicing the blooper in half.

The blooper was gone- it had fallen back into the water, bleeding out to death. But the cheep cheep was still a problem.

Not for long, however.

All Daisy had to do was slice and dice a little bit- and it was done for.

"Tomboy Trouble wins! Congratulations!"

"Saiko," Kaira breathed, standing up and leaving the arena. She began running. "Saiko, I'm coming!"

Daisy stayed after her fight to watch Rosalina. She appeared perfectly calm and not worried at all.

"Rosalina Star... Galaxy Goddess! Take it away! ...Go!"

A giant Twhomp appeared, as well as a medium sized whomp.

Daisy found the fight boring after watching Kaira's and Saiko's. Was this how people felt watching me?

Rosalina finished up quickly, Daisy not paying much attention.

"Rosalina defeats her enemies! The usual gore is nowhere to be seen, however. Rosalina keeps a nice simple painless death for her enemies today! What a change in demeanor! I wonder what could've changed this..?"

I wonder, too. Daisy thought. As Rosalina exited the stadium, Daisy searched around- looking for a familiar face. However, Dixie, Toadette, nor Kaira were anywhere to be seen. Daisy saw the pale waitress from the restaurant, but they weren't really that close. Daisy didn't want to interrupt the girl anyway.

Great- I'm the lonely newbie, Daisy grumbled. Oh well. It's time to go congratulate Rosalina.

Kaira practically sprinted to Pauline's office.

"Pauline-" Kaira panted. "She won- she won. Daisy won. Saiko- please-!"

"...hmm... Yes, you're right. The newbie did win," Pauline smirked. "That's an unexpected outcome. How much training did you give the girl, I wonder? I definitely see a lot of Toadette's tactics in her fighting style."

"...stop talking. Just let me see Saiko. Please. You know I'll be more useful."

Pauline laughed.

"Oh Kaira, I can't believe you actually thought I was serious."

It's been a long, long day...

How about you guys? I've had a pretty cruddy day so far, so I hope you guys fared better.

I almost, almost almost ALMOST told my friend I liked her. I was so close! But my other friend was there and I didn't want to make her feel awkward, so...

Ugh. I was THIS close.

Nah, I probably would've chickened out.

Grr.

What do you all think about this chapter? I should really stop giving people a reason to hate Pauline...
