"Two little bumpkins, sitting in the street. They suddenly found a pumpkin, and ran out to eat. One began to-"
"Saiko, I'll never understand your rhymes," Toadette shook her head. "But I guess I don't need to. Are you guys excited?"
The group waited anxiously as today was Luigi's first battle. Would he die today? Daisy definitely hoped not.
Luigi was always training, training, training. He hadn't had time to talk to Daisy. She understood- she was the same way when she was a newbie. She just hoped his training would pay off.
"Please welcome the Koopa King, Bowser!"
A fight ensured, but Daisy wasn't paying attention. She was still caught in a daydream of worrying about Luigi.
Would he honestly be okay?
She was aware of his weaknesses and strengths and no matter how strong he was, Luigi was often always frightened. She was worried he would lose his sense of confidence and give in to fear.
No, she had to believe in him. She couldn't stop or else she'd worry like crazy. She had to convince herself that he'd win with no injuries whatsoever.
"He'll be okay," Toadette reassured the worrying Daisy. "There shouldn't be any problems. His magic should be able to take care of whatever he's up against."
"Yeah, you're probably right..."
"Hah, that's what you get for trying to mug me," Someone sneered. "Go figure."
The group looked over to the source of the sound to see a tall boy with black hair. He was kicking someone who was laying on the ground, curled up into a ball as they tried to shield themselves.
"Hey!" Kaira shouted. The boy stopped and turned around.
"Yeah?" He questioned casually as if he didn't know what he was doing was wrong.
"Stop what you're doing," Kaira threatened, her eyes flashing. "Or else."
"And what are you going to do about it?" The boy smirked.
"Oh, I wonder..." Kaira pulled out both of her katanas, but that didn't faze him much. It seemed that the boy believed he could take her on.
There was going to be a lot of bloodshed today, wouldn't there.
The boy growled, wolf ears sprouting from his head. His skin turned slightly gray. He raised the bow and arrow at Kaira and quickly shot.
In a quick flash, Kaira blocked the arrow with her katana and sped up to him. Before he even had time to comprehend what was happening, she disarmed him easily and held him up by his shirt.
The people around them in the arena gasped and pointed at them, ignoring the fight in the actual arena.
"That's-That's Kaira!"
"She's fighting!?"
"Doesn't surprise me."
"I don't mind spilling blood," Kaira snarled. "Cut it out."
"Or what?" He questioned. "You gonna kill me?"
"Yes."
She swung her blade, ready to slice him in half when Toadette and Dixie held her back.
"Come on, you're attracting attention!" Toadette whispered worriedly. "Do you want to lose another body part?"
Kaira narrowed her eyes as she dropped the boy onto the floor.
"Watch it," Kaira snarled. "Or else you might end up like one of my many victims.."
The boy glared at her.
"You don't scare me," he challenged.
"Keep telling yourself that."
The boy scrambled away as Rosalina helped up the person.
"Thank you," The girl sighed. She was a monkey. "He's been bothering me for so long."
"What's your name?" Daisy questioned.
"Tiny. Well... It's just a nickname," The girl looked away. "Ryan has always been mean to me."
"Ryan?"
"Yeah. That was the boy," Tiny explained.
"What a stupid little prick," Kaira snarled. "That attitude will get him killed."
"Give him a break," Dixie told them. "He probably is still getting used to this."
"He's been here for two months..." Tiny mumbled. "He's my roommate... They figured that since I'm an animal and he sort of is too, it would help.. He's usually in a good mood, but he's just having one of his fits right now."
"He has these often?" Saiko looked worriedly at Kaira.
"Yeah."
"Well, you better tell him to cut it out, or he's as good as dead!" Saiko chirped.
"Wh-what!? But he can't control it!" Tiny cried. "It's just something that comes with his power."
"Don't tell me that," Kaira growled. "I don't tolerate such nonsense."
"But-"
"And Luigi wins the battle! Yet another newbie makes it another day!"
"What!?"
Daisy peered into the arena to see Luigi barely standing in the middle of the arena.
"W-we missed his fight!?"

"H...how.. How'd I do..?" Luigi questioned tiredly as he walked back with the group.
Everyone eyed each other, but no one said anything.
"Um..." Rosalina sighed.
"Well, your use of magic was good," Toadette used her background knowledge of how she knew Luigi fought. "But you have no stamina. Your technique is bad as well and you tend to make reckless decisions."
"Yeah... That sounds pretty accurate..." Luigi looked away. "But did you guys see me slaughter it?"
"Y-yeah!" Daisy lied. "It was really good."
"Thank you..." Luigi was so happy to hear the compliment. Daisy felt so bad for lying, but what else could she do?
There was an awkward silence that followed.
"So... Let's go eat waffles!"
Hey everyone, thanks for reading! How's the story right now? Meh?
Next chapter will probably feature the last OC, no promises though.
If you have any rhymes or songs you think Saiko would say, comment them! I'd like to put them in :)
Thanks for reading!
