Alyssa's mom dropped me off home, so when I walked in, putting away my shoes, and walked in the kitchen. I see my parents discussing something with their backs turned away from me.

"Am I interrupting something?" I walked in casually, and set my bag on the counter table.

They turned around, facing me, and their mouths curved into a smile.

"Hello Jenna!" My dad greeted me, "How was the hangout with Alyssa?"

I shrugged, "Pretty good." Then remembered what my mom mentioned earlier, "So, what's the news you want to tell me?"

"Okay," My mom took a deep breathe, "So, remember how your Uncle Ben lives in a pent house in LA?"

I nodded, "Yeah, what about it?"

"Well, your father," she put her hands on his shoulders, "got an email from a restaurant in Santa Monica, LA! They're asking him if he could be a teacher for a junior culinary program."

"Junior Culinary Program?" I asked.

Okay, let me introduce my parents officially. My dad is a local chief in the city of Chicago, while my mom works as a hula instructor. My dad does events like parties, and makes the best burgers in our area. That's why Uncle Ben is so obsessed with them because they're fantastic. While, my mom's heart belongs to Hawaii and decides to make Chicago feel like home by teaching hula at a local dance school. She haves a group of students who performs in events and also competes. I used to do hula but had to stop because of academic reasons but I do go to these events with my mom.

Moving on with the story.

She nodded her head, excitingly, "Yes! It's this program when teens like you get to learn how to be proper chiefs like your father!"

"So, what does this have to do wit us?" I asked, still really confused on what's going on.

"Well," My dad smiled at me and finally announced, "We're all going to LA and live in Uncle Ben's pent house!!"

"SERIOUSLY?!" I jumped, utterly happy of this huge news, "We're going to LA?!"

He nodded, smiling even wider at me, "Yes! We'll be staying there over the summer!"

"Oh my god.." I let out, seriously lost in words, "We're really gonna stay there for a while?" I asked them.

"Yeah! Isn't that amazing?!" My mom squealed, "I'm sorry, I love Chicago and all, but I want a break from here!"

"I bet," I started laughing at her overly excited behavior.

I'm excited also, cause I never traveled before. I stayed in Chicago my whole entire life and never been anywhere else. It's a sad life but that's going to change!

"But!" My mom put her index finger in the air, and pointed at me, "There's an option for you."

"Option?" I asked, ten times more confused than before, "What option?"

"Apparently, Uncle Frank told us that Lani is in LA also!"

"Really?!" I gasped. Damn it, Lani. How come she never told me?

My mom nodded, "But she's living somewhere else with some other people. Her dad said it's with a bunch of friends."

A bunch of friends? Maybe that was the craziness I was hearing earlier when she called me. Dang, I really have to stop over thinking situations.

"So, since this will be your first time going somewhere else," My dad raised his eyebrows at me, "and knowing you, you wouldn't want to be with us all the time."
