“Is it just me or did I get freaking darker?” Lani groaned as she walked out of the closet to show me her skin, and I chuckled, nodding, “Yeah, you did.”

“GREAT!” She groaned very loudly as she walked back inside her closet, “JUST FANTASTIC. Why did we go to the beach the day before the party?”

I shrugged, “You should ask yourself that since you were the one who planned it.”

“I don’t regret it one bit though.” Lani said as she walked out, wearing her outfit for the party.

“I’m just glad that I didn’t turn bright red.” I praised, “That would be a disaster for me.”

“I bet that’s not the only thing you’re glad about the Beach day.” Lani peaked out her head, giving me a creeper look.

“What?” I asked in confusion and she rolled her eyes at me, “Don’t play dumb.” she pulled her head back inside, “You and Calum were all over each other yesterday! It was so cute! Especially during the car ride home.”

“What do you mean?” I asked again in confusion, “What happened during the car ride? I was knocked out.”

“Yeah,” Lani walked out again, and grabbed her phone, “Knocked out on Calum’s shoulder.”

She showed me a pic of my head resting on Calum’s shoulder, and he was looking at the window with a big smile on his face.

“WHEN WAS THIS?!” I grabbed her phone in shock, and Lani started laughing, “During the car ride dude. You knocked out, and your head slowly landed Calum’s shoulder, and when I was about to take the picture, Calum started smiling out of nowhere like an idiot. It was really cute!” She took her phone away from my hands, and said, “Now get dressed, Red!” Lani winked at me, and walked back laughing at me.

I started laughing at her Red comment, and can’t help but to smile. Calum’s smile was really nice to look at. I wish I saw it person but how could I since I was knocked out? Either way, after the beach day, nothing could bring me down. Calum and I became closer and there’s turning back for me. I don’t know if he still haves feelings for me, but I would like to know before I leave which is soon.

After the struggling of finding the right shoes for Lani, and trying to find my skirt, we’re finally dressed, and ready to impress. Or at least that what Lani said to me.

“Who are trying to impress?” I asked as she grabbed her bag, and she turned around, saying, “The guys, duh.”

“You do know you have a boyfriend, right?”

“That’s who I am I’m talking about, Jenna.” Lani chuckled, and waved her hand at me, “Let’s go. The guys are probably getting antsy right now.”

As Lani and I started walking downstairs, we heard Michael shouting, “FINALLY! Took you guys long...” Michael lost his train of thought the minute he saw us, and his mouth turned into a smile, sighing, “Woah, you two look great!”

“To look this great takes time, Mickey.” Lani walked towards him and patted his shoulder, “Ready to go?”

“Yeah, uh..” Michael walked towards the kitchen, and we followed him to see the guys.

“Woah,” I heard Ashton gasped, and started laughing which honestly, it’s such a joy to hear, “Lookin good, guys!”

“Thanks, Irwie.” Lani smiled at him while Luke came next to her and kissed her head, “Always lookin good, love.”

“Shush you.” Lani playfully smacked his chest, but kissed his cheek anyway. I swear, if these two break up, I’m gonna break down cause they’re just too adorable.

“Where’ Cal?” I asked, and pointed at Michael, “Say anything, Clifford, and I shall rip that eye brow piercing off.”

Michael put his hands up in the air, “Jeez, I wasn’t but okay.”

“Such a lair, Michael,” I laughed at him, and the others laughed also.

“He’s in the studio.” Ashton pointed at the direction, and I nodded, “Thanks.”

I started walking towards the studio, and I heard him playing with a guitar, humming something.

When I made it there, I saw him sitting down with headphones, and just humming along a song I couldn’t put my finger on. Goodness, even though his outfit is simple which was  usual pair of black skinny jeans, and white shirt, he still looks good.

Since he was facing away from me, I decided to go behind him, and cover his eyes with my hands.

“Shit.” I heard him gasp but then started laughing, “Okay, Red, you can stop now.”

I just stayed quiet, till out of nowhere Calum took my hands, and kissed my palm which made my face burn like crazy. Then he pulled me down holding both of my arms against his chest, and my head was next to his. Oh god, so close. TOO CLOSE TO HIS FACE.

He chuckled, “Thinking you were gonna scare me, Red?” and he turned his face to face me with a grin that made me feel all tingly on the inside, “Cause you’re too cute to be scared of.”

I rolled my eyes, trying to keep my cool, “Such a flirt, cheeks.” and when I tried to move away, he held me tighter, mumbling, “A little longer. We barely get to hang out like this.”

When was holding like this considered a hang out?

“We gotta go!” I slapped his chest, and moved away, “We can hang out at the party.”

“Fine!” He set the guitar down, put the head phones away, and got up. The moment he laid eyes on me, his eyes went all wide, and his jaw dropped.

“What?” I asked him, and looked at my outfit, then back at him, “Is it bad?”

“No, no..” He shook head quickly, and bit his lower lip, “It’s just that, uh, you look really beautiful, Jenna.”

“Really?” My heart began to flutter. Oh god. Heart racing, mind getting all foggy, and I just froze standing there, completely shock at his comment. I absolutely love it when he says my name. I don’t know, every time I hear it, it makes my heart beat faster.

“Yeah,” He nodded, smiling wide at me, “I think I need to keep my eye on you at the party.”

I started to laugh, and shook my head, “No need for that, Cheeks. I’ll be just fine.”

“Sure,” He walked closer to me, and put his arm around my shoulder, “Ready to go, my dear rosy cheek friend?”

I put my hand on my cheek, “Is it really that bad?!”

“No, no,” He took my hand away, and held it, “You’re perfect.”

Woah. I did not see that coming.

“Big word.” I let out with a shaky voice, to the point that it’s barely audible.

“I know,” he nodded, and held my hand tighter, “I meant it.”

“Uh-huh,” My heart began to ache a little, I don’t know in a good or bad way but I decided to start walking out of impulse, “Let’s go to the others.” and our hands slipped away from each other.

For some reason, hearing that made me feel off. I’m perfect? The sound of that brought me back to Gabe. I shouldn’t be thinking about him, but it did. How he said I was perfect for him when we were dating. It turned out to be empty words that never really meant anything to him. Hearing that made my chest kind of heavy. I’m supposed to take it as a compliment right? A hint that he likes me, right? But for some reason, I’m thinking other wise. Like, there’s that doubt in me because of what happened with Gabe and Triston. Triston. Haven’t seen him since the date night. Gross. Don’t want to think about that day. I don’t want to think about those two anymore. Calum is not like them. I shouldn’t worry, and I know that, but why do I feel heavy on the chest?

“Hey!” I heard someone that snapped me out of my thoughts. Woah. I’m already halfway down the hallway. I didn’t even realize that I kept walking.

“Jenna,” I heard Calum say as he walked up to me, and put his hand on my shoulder, “Are you okay?”

I turned to him, and his face was something that makes me feel horrible. His face looked worried, and sad almost. I have to suck it up, Jenna. I just have to. Don’t ruin this moment for Lani and the others. I’ll get over it.

So, I brush of the feeling, and nodded at him, “Sorry, I’m fine. Just zoned out, that’s all.”

“Hey, if it’s because what I said earlier, I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable in anyway. It slipped out, and-”

“Calum,” I put my hand on his chest, smiling, “I’m fine, don’t worry about it.”

“Are you sure?” Calum asked me, and I assured him, “Yes, I’m very sure.”

He pursed his lips, and sighed, “If you say so.”

After that, we headed to the party, and man, I felt like I was transported to a hollywood movie or something. This place is amazing! The house was all modern looking with it’s white painting, and large windows.

“This is Mia’s place?” Luke asked in awed, along with all of us as we stood there in a line, literally staring at the place, and Lani nodded, “Apparently.”

“This is gonna be interesting.” Michael smirked, and Lani nudged him, “Watch yourself, Cliffconda.”

We all started cracking up, and started walking towards the backyard entrance. When we walked in, the backyard looked the exact opposite compared to the front of the house. It had the view of the beach, and it had lanterns hanging above which felt as if there were stars in the sky. Also, there were wooden picnic tables, and there was no pool, instead it was an open field. There nothing LA or hollywood about it. It’s as if it was a normal home, and the vibe was very home like, but it was kind of ruined with the fact that everyone was all nicely dressed.

“Welp,” I said, “There goes my self confidence.”

“You look just fine!” Lani patted my shoulder, “Come on, let’s go socialize.”

“LANI!” We heard someone call her out as we walked more inside the backyard, and a beautiful red head girl came up to us, smiling, “You made it!”

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world!” Lani hugged her, and man, who knew Lani would be part of this crowd? Cause I didn’t.

When they let go, Mia asked Lani when she saw us, “Who did you bring with you?”

“Well, you know the band 5 seconds of summer,” Lani pointed at each guy, “Ashton, Michael, Calum and Luke, my boyfriend.”

“Oh!” Mia squealed, “The handsome guy Lani would literally talk about all the time.”

“Aww,” Luke put his arm around her, smiling, “How cute! You can’t stop talking about me!”

“OH ha-ha,” Lani laughed unenthusiastically, “Feel flattered, Hemmings.”

“I do,” he pulled her closer, and Mia gushed over them, “You two are so cute! And this handsome fella must be Calum.” Mia stick her hand out to him and he shook it, smiling, “Nice to meet you.”

“And that hair color is fabulous on you, Michael!” Mia complimented Michael who flipped his head as if he was flipping his hair, smiling, “Why thank you, darling!”

“And you’re the guy who wouldn’t stop looking at me every time I walked inside the house during Lani and I’s photo shoot.” Mia crossed her arms at Ashton and smirked at him which made him gulp, and smile nervously, “Heh, sorry about that. It caught me off guard cause they you were dressed at that time. It was...er..distracting.”

I let out chuckle and so did the others. Distracting?! Okay, Ashton. He sure have a great way with words.

“Oh goodness,” Mia shook her head at him, giggling, “Calm down, drummer boy, I found it adorable!”

Then she clapped her hands, “Well, I hope you guys have a great time here! I’ll see you guys around.” She waved at us good bye, and walked away.

Throughout the time, Lani, the guys, and I were actually have a great time. We talked to a few people, ate some amazing food, and just chilled out. The party was going great, and I felt like as if nothing can ruin this.

“I’m gonna use the bathroom,” I told Lani as I walked away, and headed inside the house.

“Woah,” I gasped at the sight of the house. Yeah, definitely the opposite of the backyard. It’s huge, and the furniture looked expensive as hell. I felt like I was gonna get lost in this house due to the fact that it was huge but luckily, as I kept wondering, I heard a flush, and someone coming out of the bathroom.

“Finally!” I cheered, and headed to the bathroom.

After the bathroom, I headed out, and when I did, I felt someone bumping into me.

“Sorry.” we said in unison, but that voice made my heart stopped. No way.

I looked at who it was, and there he was. Triston standing in front of me with wide eyes.

“Jenna?!” Triston gasped, and I just stood there, frozen, then Triston exclaimed, “What are you doing here?!”

Well, when I said that felt like nothing can ruin this for me, I said that a little too soon. This is gonna be a long night. AGAIN.
