“THANK YOU CHICAGO!” Calum shouted after he did a final strum of an electric guitar, “WE LOVE YOU AND GOOD NIGHT!!”
I started to laugh, “That was fun!”
Calum has been teaching me how to play more songs on the bass and he thought it would be cool if we pretended if we’re at a concert, and we’re just jamming to different songs.
Calum set the guitar down on it’s stand, and sat down on the couch, smiling at me, “I knew you would like it.”
“You know a lot of things.” I sat next to him, sighing, “I wish I could have my own bass guitar.”
“I could give you one of mines if you want.” Calum put his arm around my shoulder, but I shook my head, “No, that’s too kind. I can’t possibly take one of yours.”
“It would be a pleasure of knowing you playing with my bass, instead of a random stores.” Calum pulled me closer to him, smiling at me still.
I couldn’t help but grin, and shrugged, “Maybe before we leave?”
“Sounds like a plan.”
“Speaking of plans,” I looked up at him, “I still have to teach you have to play the ukulele.”
“Oh yeah!” Calum eyes widened as he looked at me, “Go get it!”
I ran to the living room, and grabbed my ukulele.
“How are the lessons going?” Lani asked as she was whipping up some dinner for later, and I yelled as I was running down the hall, “AWESOME!”
“We all know why..” I heard Michael snickering which made me roll my eyes at his comment.
“JENNA, MY HANDS ARE GINORMOUS COMPARED TO THIS TINY THING.” Calum complained as I was teaching him how to play a few notes on the ukulele.
I bursted out of laughter, literally laughing my butt off, “IF MY TINY HANDS CAN PLAY THOSE HUGE BASS THEN YOUR BIG HANDS CAN PLAY THIS TINY GUITAR.”
Honestly, these lessons was an awesome plan. It gave me an excuse to touch Calum’s hands which were incredibly soft. I also love seeing him smile as he played terribly. I don’t know if it’s because he actually likes it, but that smile is undeniable. It makes me feel all warm on the inside.
Calum was smiling at the ukulele till he looked at me, saying, “This is-uh,” He cocked his head to the side a little, “How long have you ben looking at me like that?”
“Huh?” I blinked, bringing myself back to earth, and coughed, “Sorry, zone out.”
“Of coarse.” He chuckled, and said, “Teach me a song.”
“What song?” I asked him, which made him smile even wider, “That song you and Lani sang together when we’re in Chicago.”
“Lullaby?” I asked him and he nodded, “Yeah, it sounded nice.”
I shrugged, “It’s kind of old, but it is a classic. Okay, I’ll teach you.”
After struggling with his long fingers and tendency of getting distracted by complimenting me, he finally got the chorus and first verse done. It took him a while but he finally got the hang of it.
“Are you gonna sing if I play it?” He asked me as he started strumming the notes to the song.
“I don’t know,” I scooted back, “I don’t think you’re ready yet.”
“Oh why is that?”
“Well, you just learned the song, and knowing you, you’re gonna mess up.”
