[ a/n: if you ever want a preference on what the song Lullaby sounds like, there's a video for it ^^ enjoy! ]

“Stop staring at me.”

I blinked and I saw Calum smiling at me as he stopped strumming his bass guitar. We were in my room as Lani and the other guys were downstairs, watching a movie. I wanted to jam on the bass guitar some more before I leave, so Calum brought it up for me.

“I was not staring.” I pouted and crossed my arms, “Just thinking.”

“You’re always thinking, Red.” Calum scooted closer to me, “What’s on your mind?”

“I’m just trying to remember everything before I leave.”

“Oh..” Calum’s voice let out that sounded inaudible, “That.”

I looked at him, and Calum was looking away at the ground, avoiding eye contact.

“Hey!” I playfully pushed his shoulder, “Calum!”

“What?” He mumbled at me, and I nudged him, saying, “Cheer up!”

“I’m fine!” He scoffed, and looked at me, shrugging, “Just tired.” then look back at the ground.

Obviously he’s lying for he is showing that he’s sad that I’m leaving soon, really soon actually, like in a couple days soon. I don’t want to leave either, but my home is in Chicago. I have to go back sooner or later, but every time the topic comes about, he gets all sad and depressing on me. He usually gets over it, but seeing a sad Calum is like seeing a sad puppy. It’s heartbreaking, and too adorable, and you will do anything to make that puppy happy again.

I sighed, and thought of the worst idea, but I know that this idea will get this boy’s tail wagging. I’m gonna regret this so much, but sad Calum is not fun to watch.

So, I took my ukulele which is next to me on my bed, and I got up.

I walked in front of him, and moved the bass guitar away from him.

“Hey!” He tried to reach for it, but I sat down on his lap and that’s when his attention was on me now.

“Uh...” He looked at me, then down, and up at me again, “Comfy?”

“Very.” I smiled, and strum my ukulele, “Remember how you wanted me to sing to you?”

He nodded, “And?”

“And since your sleepy, let me sing you a lullaby. Also, I shall show you what it’s supposed to sound like.”

Calum grew a big a smile on his face, and put his arm around around my waist, saying, “I’ve been waiting for this.”

“Even the lap part?”

“This is just a bonus.”

“Don’t get too excited, Bass.” I rolled my eyes, laughing, “I’m not that great.”

“Yeah, you’re amazing.” He rested his cheek on my shoulder, and I shushed him, saying, “Shut up and let me play.”

Calum fell into silence, and I continued playing Lullaby. With every word I sang, I just thought of him. His smile, his laugh, his kisses, his hugs, everything. It breaks my heart that I have to leave this guy behind for a while but I know that it’s not gonna be forever, and this time, we’ll have better communication than before.

Wherever you are
No matter how far
Just listen for me
I'll sing you to sleep
I love you, goodnight
Dream away with me tonight

When I was done, Calum kissed my shoulder, saying, “I love you, Jenna.”

“I love you too, Calum.” I chuckled, and he sighed, “Ah, that was worth the wait.”

“Shut up.” I scoffed as I tried to stand up, but he held on tight to me, saying, “Few more minutes.”

“Here we go again with the minutes.” I chuckled at him and sighed, “Okay.”

“Mind singing that to me every night?”

“What?” I put my arm around his shoulders, “What happens if you have different time zones? I can’t be singing like a whale at 3am in the morning.”

“Fine, how about you record a video for me so I can to go sleep with your lullaby?”

I rolled my eyes, but smiled, “Okay, I’ll agree with that. I have a smart boyfriend.”

“You are such a liar.” Calum started laughing which made me laugh harder, “It was worth a try.”

“I’m gonna miss being this close to you.” I sighed as we just stood still together, holding to each other.

“You know what I’m gonna miss?”

“What is that?”

“Our soccer games.”

“Oh god,” I chuckled as I tilted my head back, “Do you want more bruises from me?”

“I just know it’s out of love since I’m the one who taught you that.”

“I’m such a loving girlfriend.” I said sarcastically, and he nodded, “Diddo.”

Then later, Calum took my hands, and was chuckling, saying, “Remember how I got ketchup on your hands?”

“That was disgusting.” I scrunched my nose, and smiled, “Remember how you dive into the pool with me in your shoulders?”

“Awww,” He smiled at me, “That was fun. Like that time we have an ice cream fight.”

“That was gross too. Calum,” I looked at him, “What is up with you and getting me dirty with food?”

Calum started laughing, “It’s a thing I do to you. Feel special, won’t you?”

“Oh like how you gave me those bass lessons?”

“Those lessons were fun.” Calum sighed, “Like that time we went to the beach.”

“Speaking of the beach,” I remembered, “What was up with you and Luke at the beach? You two were acting weird.”

That’s when Calum pursed his lips, then lifted me up and set me aside, saying, “Let’s not speak of that.”

“CALUM!” I held on to him, whining, “Tell me! I wanna know!”

“It’s a guy’s problem, okay? You won’t understand. Plus, it’s embarrassing.”

“But I want to know!”

“Jenna,” Calum shook his head at me, laughing, “I gave you a hint on what it was.”

“What? What were the hints?”

“It’s a guy problem and it’s embarrassing!”

“That doesn’t help you know.” I took my arms and crossed them, saying, “Fine, don’t tell me. Keep secrets from me!”

“Jenna!” He started hugging me now, crying out, “It’s embarrassing to say!”

“Then give me more hints.”

“Okay, you were sucking on a popsicle, right?”

I nodded, and he continued, “What does a popsicle remind you of?”

“What?”

“Use your dirty mind for this.”

“My dirty-OHHHH!” I suddenly realized what he meant, and I exclaimed, “Were you having a boner when you saw me sucking on a popsicle?!”

“DON’T BE SO LOUD!” He put his hands on the sides of my head, looking so embarrassed by what I said.

That’s when I started laughing so hard that I had to push Calum away, breathing for air, saying, “JESUS CALUM! CALM YOURSELF!”

“I CAN’T HELP IT!” Calum put his arms in the air, “GUYS CAN’T EXACTLY CONTROL THEIR MANHOOD YOU KNOW.”

I wiped my eyes, trying to stop laughing, “That’s funny.”

“No it’s not.”

“It’s pretty hilarious.” I chuckled a little bit more and grinned at him mischievously, “It’s nice knowing that I can you feel that way.”

“How can I not?” Calum leaned in close to my face, smiling, “You’e the most sexiest girl I had ever encountered.”

“Oh really?” I crossed my arms, “Katy Perry? Alicia Keys?”

“Way to kill the mood, Jenna.” Calum pouted and I smiled at him as I put my arms around his neck, “Juuust kidding. Love you.”

I gave him a quick kiss, but he put his hand behind my head, and pulled me in for a longer kiss.

When we parted, I couldn’t help but giggle, “Someone is in the mood.”

“I’m always in the mood when it comes with you.”

“Calm yourself down, Bass.” I chuckled, and backed away to yawn.

“Getting tired?”

I nodded, “A little bit. It’s been a long day.”

“Wanna go to sleep?”

“I want to laid down with you.” I took his hand, and Calum grinned, “Okay,” then stood up, “Let’s get ready for bed?”

After washing my face, brushing my teeth, and putting on my pjs which is actually Calum’s shirt, and my shorts, I jumped on bed, sighing, “Tired.”

“Don’t you look adorable in my shirt.” I heard Calum say as he came inside, and I groaned, “Shut up.”

We’re not laying down together with our shoulders touching, and our hands intertwined.

“Wanna sing to me, Bass?” I asked him, “Since you know, I sang to you.”

“Fine.” Calum groaned, “What song?”

“Hmmm,” I thought to myself then shrugged, “Any song.”

“Be specific, Jenna!”

“Okay, fine. A song that describes us.”

“Umm...” Calum said as he was thinking then he gasped, “Oh!”

He did a few coughs to prepare himself, and then sang,

Wait, don't tell me
Heaven is a place on earth
I wish I could rewind all
the times that I didn't
show you what you're really worth

“Everything I didn’t say” huh? I didn’t know how relevant this song was till I actually paid attention to each word he sang in each verse. Especially the chorus.

Taking every breath away
With all of the mistakes I've made
From all the letters that I've saved
This is everything I didn't say
I wish I could've made you stay
And I'm the only one to blame
I know that it's a little too late
This is everything I didn't say

When he was done, I looked at him and scooted up more to be face level with him.

He grinned, “How was that?” and I smiled at him, saying, “I think that’s the best song that describes us perfectly.”

“Who knew, huh?”

“Anything else that you didn’t say to me, Calum?”

Calum did a thinking look then shook his head, saying, “Nope. Not at the moment at least.”

“Okay,” I yawned again, “Thank you, Calum.”

“For what?” Calum wrapped his arm around me as he pulled me close, and I put my head on his chest, sighing, “For everything.”

“Thank you for not giving up on me, Jenna.”

“I will never give up on you, Calum, and I promise you that.”

“I love you.” Calum kissed the top of my head and sighed, “Love you too.”
