*Y/n's POV*

"Shawn, I was thinking we could - " I stopped, realizing that he wasn't listening. "Hello, earth and to Shawn," I waved my hand in front of his face that was focused on the TV in front of him.

"Hold on, I'm playing a game," he bit his lip, turning the controller in his hands.

"Is Mario Kart seriously more important than your girlfriend?" I asked playfully. When he didn't answer, I walked over to the TV and pressed the power button as the screen went black.

"What?" Shawn whined, "Come on babe, I was almost winning!"

"You act like such a little kid sometimes," I laughed, "Also, that game's not that hard to win. I could beat you at it anytime."

He let out a short chuckle, " Oh wait, you're serious?"

"Yeah, I'm serious," I defended, "Here, surrender a remote, Mendes. I'll take you on right now."

"Okay," Shawn said skeptically as he handed me a remote. I turned it back on and sat down on the couch next to him.

"Don't expect me to go easy on you," Shawn smirked.

"Same here and you won't need to."

Him and I were pretty competitive when it came a lot of things and I had to say, Shawn was usually a sore loser.

After choosing our characters and cars, the countdown to the beginning of the race started. 3,2,1,Go!

We both started racing, Shawn starting out just a little ahead of me.

"I told you I would win," Shawn bragged as we entered our last lap.

I could see him on the screen just ahead of me, "You might want to wait a second, Shawn. I'm just behind you."

I was right next to him in the race and we were both fighting to get in front when I pressed a button, making my character throw a turtle shell at his.

"No!" Shawn raved as his car went spinning out of control behind mine.

I laughed loudly at his reaction as I sped across the finish line. The final results came up on the screen, showing me in first place and Shawn all the way in seventh.

"Yes! I was right. I beat you!" I announced, doing a little victory dance in my seat.

"That wasn't fair," Shawn pouted, crossing his arms and leaning back on the couch.

"Cone on, Shawn, you know it was completely fair," I grinned at him, "Aren't you happy for me?"

"Yeah," he sat up, "At least I can still do one thing better than anyone else."

"What's that?" I questioned.

"This," he pressed his lips against mine, making my stomach turn in excitement. With his hands on my cheeks, he slowly kissed me before pulling away and leaving me breathless.

"Definitely," I breathed as a smile appeared on my blushing cheeks.
