*Y/n's POV*

It was almost midnight and Shawn still hasn't come home from the studio.

I had put our five year old daughter, Skylar, to bed by myself as she asked where Shawn was multiple times. I would always tell her that he would be coming home soon, but even I wasn't sure of it.

Shawn had been coming home late all week. I knew he had plenty of work to do and I didn't want to complain, but it felt like I was never with him.

And every time Shawn wasn't home, there was disappointed all over Skylar's little face. I felt so bad for her.

When I finally heard the front door open, I stood up and met Shawn right in front of the door.

He put his backpack down and a shadow was cast over his face in the darkness.

"Where have you been?" I demanded.

"Working," he stated, a bit of annoyance in his voice.

"For all day and then this late at night?"

"Yes, Y/n," he said angrily, "I've been working my ass off all week trying to get the album done. It would be nice if when I got home, I could relax without you always pestering me about it."

I couldn't believe how he was acting. "Are you kidding me?" I shouted, "I'm here all day taking care of our daughter and you're never here! Never here for me or Skylar. It's like she doesn't even have a dad!" I knew I was taking it too far and I should've just let it go, but I didn't.

"Well, excuse me for working so hard to make money for my family!" Shawn spat.

I was about to make a comeback, when I heard a tiny sniffle from behind me. Turning around, I saw Skylar standing just outside her room. Her hands were bear her face, looking really scared.

"Mommy, Daddy, why are you yelling?" she asked quietly.

"Oh, sweetie, I'm sorry," I came over and kneeled in front of her, "You must be scared, huh?"

She slowly nodded.

Shawn kneeled down next to me. "We just had a little disagreement, baby," he rubbed her cheek with his thumb, "We didn't mean to scare you."

Skylar looked up at me, "You're not getting a divorce?"

My jaw dropped, shocked that she would say that. "Of course not, Sky," I told her, "Why would you think that?"

She explained, "My friend from school said her mommy and daddy got divorced. And it seemed like you were mad at each other."

"Skylar," Shawn cooed, "Even when we fight, we still love each other." Shawn brought Skylar to his chest, hugging her, and I wrapped my arms around her from the other side.

"Let's get you back to bed, baby girl," Shawn stood up with her still in his arms and carried her into her room. She was soon fast asleep again and Shawn stood in front of me near the front door.

His hands were stuck in his jean pockets. "I'm sorry," Shawn said, staring at the floor, "I should have spent more time with you two. With my family. And I'm sorry I yelled at you. You didn't deserve that."

"Hey," I stepped close to him, "Babe look at me."

He did so.

"You don't need to be sorry. I overreacted and I shouldn't have gotten so mad," my hand was on his cheek, "You're a great dad and I understand you work really hard every day."

Shawn smiled, "I love you."

"I love you too," I stood on my tippy toes and kissed his lips softly.
