*Shawn's POV*

The pain was excruciating. I wasn't even out of bed yet and I already wanted it to be nighttime so I could sleep more. My head pounded and my forehead felt hot. It was probably the worst migraine I had ever had.

A quiet knock that seemed much louder came from my bedroom door. I didn't answer, but my mom came in anyways.

"Good morning, Shawn," she called, "It's pretty dark in here. I'll open the window."

"No wait, Mom, don't," I threw my hands up over my face as light poured into my room, hurting my head even more, "Ow!"

She closed the blinds quickly, "What is it, Shawn? What's wrong?"

"I don't know. I think I'm sick and my head is killing me," I closed my eyes and breathed out.

"Well, why don't you come with me and we can get you some medicine."

Ugh, no way. I hate taking that.

"No, Mom, I'm fine. I don't need any medicine. See?" I sat up and started to get out of bed, but totally regretted it. I was overwhelmed with pain, so bad it brought tears to my eyes. "Oh my god, owww!" I cried out loudly before laying back down in bed.

My sister Aaliyah soon appeared at my door, "Is everything alright? I heard someone yell." She came over and sat by my side.

"Shawn has a migraine and is refusing to take any medicine for it," my mom told her.

"Come on, don't be a baby," Aaliyah said not so sympathetically, "You're supposed to be the older sibling here."

"Thanks, Aaliyah," I sarcastically rolled my eyes, "I'm not being a baby, I just don't need it."

"Shawn, you can't even stand up," Aaliyah argued.

"I can sit up."

"Okay then, sit up," she watched with a disbelieving look on her face.

I ran my hand through my hair, wincing in pain before I slowly sat up. I bit my lip hard as the pain increased dramatically, trying not to cry. The tears spilled down my cheeks anyways.

My mom came back in the room with a bottle of medicine, "I have it right here, Shawn. All you have to do is take it."

Attempting to shake my head, and them stopping myself, I muttered a quick "no".

"We should call Shannon. He loves her, so he might listen to her better than us," I heard Aaliyah suggest to my mom.

"Guys, you don't need to call Shannon out of work to come and help me," I groaned, "I'm completely fine."

"Shawn, you're not," Aaliyah said sternly but with more empathy than before, "You can't get out of bed or sit up without crying and you're obviously in a lot of pain. We're calling her."

"Fine, call her," I grabbed my stuffed bear and lyed back down, "I'm still not taking that medicine." Truth is I really wanted my girlfriend over to help me.

*Shannon's POV*

I was at work when I got a call from Shawn's mom. I answered quickly, "Hey Mrs. Mendes, what's up?"

"It's Shawn," she sounded kind of worried, which transferred over to me, "He's sick with a really bad migraine, but won't take any medicine. I was hoping you might be able to come over and coax him into taking it."

"Of course, I'll be right over," I quickly left work because Shawn's way more important and drove to his house.

I got worried when I saw the state of him: his hair a ruffled mess, his face pale, and still laying in bed.

"Shawn, you don't look so good," I kneeled beside the bed and gently put my hand on the side of his face, "If you take the medicine you'll feel better."

He stubbornly looked away from me, "Please, Shannon, I've already told everyone in this house that I'm fine."

"Okay," I sighed. Shawn put one arm up by his face to rub his eye and I saw an opportunity. Before he could react, I grabbed Shawn's stuffed bear that had been in his arms and pulled it from his grip.

"Hey, give it back," he cried, pouting with his bottom lip sticking out.

I shook my head, "Not until you take the medicine."

i saw him realize that he was stuck in a corner and I knew he would agree considering that it was his favorite teddy bear that I had gotten him for his birthday a few months before.

"Fine," Shawn finally agreed. He gulped down the medicine with a disgusted look on his face before I gave him back his bear. He hugged it to his chest and pulled me in for a hug as well.

"Thank you for helping me Shannon," Shawn hugged me one last time and I kissed his cheek before I had to go.

"No problem," I stood in the doorway of his room, "Get some rest, baby. I'll see you later."

"Bye darling."
