I looked at the woman in front of me. What if she had told Elizabeth, or wanted to tell Nash, which would make me an even bigger loser than I already was. Nobody gets their aunts to stand up for themselves. Nobody.

“What are you doing here Jess?”

“Well I met this lovely lady at the store today and figured out that you were tutoring her son, so she invited me over for dinner today. Isn't that sweet?” She gave me a warm smile, but it faded a tiny bit when she looked over at Nash. She remembered me talking about him, great.

“Don't be shy guys, dig in!” Hayes said before grabbing the plate of something that looked like lasagne. It probably was. Everyone except Nash, laughed at Hayes' comment.

It was a looong dinner with just listening to aunt Jess and Elizabeth talking about their childhood. I don't even know why they did that. I mean, they just met.

“Maybe we should go study? I have a test tomorrow.” Nash looked at me with a half smile. Suddenly I really wanted to hear more about Elizabeth's childhood and how she beat up a guy in 3rd grade for taking her pencil.

“That sounds like a good idea! And thanks to you (Y/N), Nash actually wants to study!”

“No mom, I really just want to get away from this weird flashback thing going on here.” Nash said before getting up from his chair and dragging me with him upstairs.

“I thought we studied downstairs?” I really didn't feel like being alone with this guy right now. I had just been making fun of him and his friends in front of the whole school. Who knows what he would do to me.

“We have studied together once before. It's not like the kitchen is a permanent location for studying or anything, and you were the one who picked it out anyway.”

“Yeah, because I liked studying in the kitchen.”

“Can we just get this over with? Please.”

I gave in, and sat down on the floor next to him. We were still doing maths, and I was proud to say that he was making progress. I wasn't proud HE was making a progress, I was proud he was making a progress because of ME.

“Why did you turn into such a bitch at school today?” He looked me dead in the eyes, forcing me to look at him.

“I figured since people called me a bitch for no reason, I would give them a reason.” He raised his eyebrows in a questioning way.

“But you were only bitchy to me, John and Luke.” So that's his name. Luke. Bleh.

“You are the once who have been calling me a bitch the most.” I said it like it didn't mean much. I played cool, like it was no big deal.

“People don't just change like that (Y/N)! What the hell had gotten into you?”

“Since when do you care? And some people do change just like that, just look at yourself being all nice to me, and also ask your little friend, John!” I covered my mouth with my hand as I realized what I had just said. Nobody remembered the friendship me and him had, and I swore I wouldn't let people remember it either. Guess I'm not good at keeping promises.

“What the hell do you mean?” He looked like the biggest questioning mark I have ever seen.

“Just forget it!” I was about to walk out before Nash grabbed my arm, getting a good grip around all my scars. I jumped a little, feeling the pain going through my arm. I yanked my arm back. He gave me a confused look. It was almost a worried look on his face.

“Just forget it.” I said a bit lighter as I sat down again, pretending like nothing happened.

After about an hour and a half of studying, aunt Jess was yelling at me, telling me that she was leaving and that I should tag along. I walked downstairs with Nash following straight behind me. Aunt Jess was already in her car when I got down.

“Are you okay (Y/N)?” Nash asked me looking down at my arm. He hadn't seen my scars, but I guess since he noticed my reaction to him touching my arm, he was starting to figure it out.

“Just cut the crap already! Stop pretending like you care.” Nash took my arm, trying to pull me back inside as I walked out, but he soon remembered the pain it caused last time so he quickly let it go.

I got in the car and noticed how angry aunt Jess looked.

“He was about to hit you, weren't he. That sick bastard! I will make him regret it so mu-” I cut her off before she told me her plan on how to kill that guy.

“I don't know what he was trying on doing, but whatever it was, he didn't have the guts to do it. And I'm talking care of the whole situation Jess. You don't have to worry, they won't bother me any more.” I smiled a little imagining not getting picked on.

“That's great honey because John is coming over on Saturday.”
