5- "Get ready for more."

Chapter 5

Ava's POV

"No, wait! I don't care if I'm forgetting something! Where's Zoe? How is she? Mia told me that she had a seizure or something. And why are you here? Didn't you say that you were at Texas wi--"

Leo cut me short by covering my mouth with his right hand and said "That's not what's important right now. Close your eyes now."

"But why?"

"Just do so."

"If I do will you tell me where Zoe is?"

"Yes, I will."

"Fine!"

I closed my eyes, wondering what would happen when I opened them. I really wish nothing weird happens.

A long time ago when Leo told me to do the same thing, I did. And when I opened my eyes Ethan was on his knee holding a flower and asked,

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

This is why I was a little hesitant about closing my eyes this time.

I'm not someone who is patient so this wait started to bug the hell out of me.

After a minute, I heard Leo saying "Open your eyes now Ava." I slowly opened my eyes and I could not believe what was in front of my eyes!!

There was a small circular glass table on top of which there was a massive black forest cake with the words "Happy Birthday Ava! We love you loads!♥'

"Oh my god, you guys honestly!"

My knees become weak, and I crouched and started sobbing because I've never had a surprise party for my birthday.

Zoe walked towards me and touched me on my shoulder. I could not look up but continued weeping like a little child.

The crying went on for 5 minutes straight and I finally stood up and turned towards Zoe.

"You bitch! You seem totally fine! What's up with you and your seizure? I was really worried. Your okay right?" I asked, half crying, half pissed.

"Haha yeah, I'm totally fine! Oh, you were worried? For me? Such a joke!" Zoe rolled her eyes.

I giggled and replied, "Oh shut up."

Mia who was listening to the conversation intervened and wished me.

I smiled and hugged her tightly.

I now turned to face Ethan and ran up to him and hugged him tightly. Tears started flowing from my eyes yet again. I fitted in his arms perfectly like a teddy bear hugged by its owner.

Though I told Ethan that I didn't have feelings for him, he treated me like we were dating.

He is extremely loyal and straightforward. Nobody can beat him both in his personality and looks.
He had an angular face with a sharp jawline.

It's not like I have never had feelings for him but I just figured out that I always kept changing my mind and my feelings were not stable. So I passed.

I continued hugging him and I hoped this could go on forever. Hugging him was something I looked forward to because it clears my mind from all diversions and also it makes me feel important. The warmth of his body was just very consoling.

I heard Leo clear his throat and I'm pretty sure he cringed too.

I heard Mia say, "How long are you guys going to be doing this? This is like a freaking Guinness World Record for the longest hug."

After she said that, Leo high fived her.

So now here's the thing right? Mia and Leo might just start dating in the future out of nowhere and I won't be surprised because they seem super into each other.

Ethan and Zoe agree with me too. But we haven't asked them anything about this yet because that conversation is for another day.

Ethan pulled out from the hug and replied "My god, Mia. Go get a boyfriend for yourself. Losers like Leo will want to date losers like you."

I laughed at this comment of his.

Ethan then turned back and said, "Happy Birthday Ava. Stay happy and I'm always here for you no matter what."

"I know you'll have my back always." I smiled.

Zoe, who kept quiet all this time finally said, " Okay guys can you like stop? We need to give you your presents." She says.

"Presents? For me? Oh yes! Show me!" I squealed like a little child.

"For that, you need to stop rubbing your body against Ethan." Leo sarcastically commented.

"Huh? What do you mean?" I asked.

After a split second I just realized that I was hugging Ethan for like 10 minutes now and all the while I was talking to the others, I would move little, still holding Ethan's waist with both my hands while his hands were around my shoulders.

Both of us registered this at the same time and moved away.

Awkward.

"So where are my presents?" I excitedly asked. Mia said, "Well we don't have gifts which we bought separately but we do have something which is really special for all of us."

This suspense was killing me.

"Well show it to me then! Don't keep me waiting!"

Leo drew small rectangular sheets and gave it to me. The millisecond I saw it, I started jumping like a maniac. Because this was what Leo gave me.

There were a total of 2 tickets plus the 3 tickets that Zoe, Mia and I had.

I asked, "All of us are going?"

"Yep," Zoe answered.

"Oh my fucking god. Ethan and Leo coming to the concert is so cool." I scream. We are going to have so much fun. And because today I turn the big 18 and by the law, I am legal, so drinks are on me today."

"Whoa look whose showing off their money!" Leo screamed. Leo, Ethan and I are now all 18.

"But we still can't drink!" Zoe and Mia said in unison. "We still have 2 more weeks left."

"Oh, I forgot! Well, then everything any of you buy today will be paid by me. That okay?"

"Yeah!" Mia said happily and clapped her hands excitedly.

Zoe then said, " Ava, you thought all your surprises for today were over right?"

"Yeah." I dragged.

"Get ready for more." Leo smiled and winked.

"Noooooooo" I screamed.
