Chapter 43

"Are you sure said that's what he said?" I ask Amara on the phone. "Yeah, I'm positive, I was listening to him speaking the entire time." She replies. "But just to be safer I'll ask Sadie. Call you in 5 minutes." She hangs up.

"So?" Zoe asks me after I walk back into the hall. "We should have listened to Sang-Chul's announcement. Something about a team performance." I say.

"What do you mean performance?" Mia looks up from her phone.

"The 10 us will get separated into teams of five and we'll have to come up with our own song, choreography, and a music video. They'll both be posted on YouTube at the same time. The 6 most popular girls will get to debut."

"That's sort of unfair, don't you think?" Zoe asks. "Not all 10 people can show their talents in one 3-minute video. There's more to us than just performing. They won't know anything about us behind the screen."

"What do you mean?" The other twin asks, putting her phone away.

"Naomi for example. She looks really good and might do great in the music video but only the rest of us know what she's really like." Zoe explains.

"Do we?" Mia chuckles.

"We don't." Zoe nods her head, slowly.

"Anyway, what I'm saying is the ones watching the videos won't have a real idea of what they're going to get." She continues.

"Yeah, that makes sense." Mia agrees. "What do you think, Ava?"

Just as I'm about to reply, the phone starts ringing. "One second," I mutter and attend the phone call.

"Hey, Amara," I say on the phone.

"Hey so I called Sadie and she said the same thing. Two teams, one music video, original choreography, and all of the members must get at least 15 seconds of screen time and 10 seconds of singing or rapping or whatever." She says.

"Oh we're also supposed to have a dance practice video," She adds.

I groan and she chuckles. "Same girl, same." She says.

"I don't want Naomi or Esther on my team," I complain. "Yeah, well, that's not our choice to make. And for the last time, it's Esme."

"Eh, I don't care. When will we get to know the teams?" I ask her.

"By noon. And we have to meet up in the evening with our teams for discussion." She replies.

"Who's going to pay for our clothes and all that?"

"The company will take care of all that. Our only job is coming up with a song and a choreography."

"Only?" I scoff.

"If you debut, this is what you're going to have to do for a living." She reminds.

"Yeah, yeah okay," I reply. "Alright, I'll call you after the list comes out."

"Cool, bye."

"See ya, Amara,"

I cut the call and the twins are looking at me with curiosity. I repeat the same things that Amara told me.

"Where will we meet up though? And where will we practice and record?" Mia asks.

"We have 4 dance studios in this building, don't we? I'm pretty sure we're going to practice in those. And for recording, probably use the one that BTS is using. It's not a big deal though. We can easily find a recording studio." I tell her and she nods.
