Chapter 49

We jog towards the black-haired girl, wondering where she'd been for so long. "Hey Samara," I breathlessly call and touch her shoulder. She turns to face us, shocked.

"Ava! Zoe!" She replies as she looks at both of us, her confused gaze shifting from Zoe and I. "What're you doing here and where have you been for long?" I ask after catching my breath.

"Long story," She sighs. "I'm here to meet the manager." She says, eyeing the building in front of us. "Is everything okay?" Zoe asks. "Yeah, it's all good." She smiles.

I found it weird because we tried to ask her about where she went but she kept dodging the bullet. If she doesn't want to tell us, fine. She'll tell us when she wants to.

We walk into the building together but part ways in the lobby. She takes the right to talk to the manager while we go up the stairs to the second floor where our rooms were.

"She's acting really strange," Zoe remarks as we walk up. I nod and ask, "Do you think she's selected or something? Is that why she wants to meet the manager?"

"Wow, you think she's getting a free pass?" Zoe exclaims. "Could be," I shrug. "She's extremely capable so yeah."

My cousin lets out a small laugh. "She didn't have to go through any of the things we went through, it's really not fair," She complains.

What she's saying is not wrong though. "We'll talk about this when we're sure she's debuting with us," I tell her. "Eh," She tilts her head to one side.

A habit she might have picked up from Kook perhaps? We'll never know.

With the two huge bags filled with food, we walk into the dance room. The second we enter, loud noises erupted like a damn volcano and we were immediately surrounded by everybody grabbing their food from the bag. By the time they were done, the bags were empty.

"Hey, I wanted that candy!" I shout at Tae who grabbed my sour candy. "Too bad," He sticks his tongue out and continues popping my candy in his mouth with a mocking smirk.

"You are so dead," I stomp angrily and before I could grab the green-colored packet, someone beat me to it.

"Jin!" I yell as he starts running away with my candy. "Honestly, what's with everyone stealing my food?" I whine. "And what, you're 12 or something?" I ask running behind him. "I'm 22 you idiot," He screams in reply.

The dance room wasn't even that huge but that's what made it more difficult. I almost slipped on the clean, polished floor multiple times.

In the middle of the chase, I had to stop, remove my socks, and then continue running after him. I bumped into Namjoon so many times, I'm surprised he didn't slap me.

Jin suddenly stops and I abruptly stop too. He turns to face me and stares.

"What?" I crossly ask.

He breathes hard and places his hands on his hip.

"Why did you stop?" He asks.

"Why did you stop?" I ask him back.

"Because I can." He shrugs.

"Why did you stop? He repeats.

"Because you stopped," I reply.

"Toodles!" He says and again starts to run.

"Are you kidding me?" I scream but continue my chase.

I finally jump on him, tackle him to the ground, and forcefully pull the packet out of his hand. Jin and I both look in disappointment as the cover rips and the sugar-coated yellow pieces of candy fall on the ground. "Noo!" We yell in defeat.
