Chapter 67

Taehyung's POV

"Mom, this smells delicious," My mouth waters at the sight of breakfast. There are many, small ceramic bowls placed on the dining table filled with various kinds and colors of food.

From what I can recognize, there's the standard kimchi, grilled short ribs, spicy stewed fish, cold cucumber soup, and bean sprout rice. "Mom where did you get all the ingredients from?" I get the spoons from the drawer.

"Last night, we went to the supermarket near the airport. We knew you kids wouldn't have done any grocery shopping," I smile with guilt and place the napkins on the table. "Wow," Ava exclaims, looking at the food in front of her.

"Mom hi!" She runs to hug my mom, who hugs her back ever so tightly. "Mom didn't even hug you like this when she saw you at the airport did she?" Eon Jin sniggers from beside me.

"You little-," I grit my teeth causing Eon Jin to double up further. My phone vibrates from the table and I attend the call. "Hey Amara."

Amara and I, when we first met did not click at all. For the first few weeks, we avoided each other for no reason. Every time it was just us in the practice room, we never made conversation. Both of us will just pretend to scroll through our phones.

But that was not the case for long. After both our groups started becoming a little close, I and Amara didn't really have a choice. Once we did start talking, however, we became best friends in a short amount of time.

She's a little shy sure but as we spent more time together I got to know how pure and innocent of a person she is. As time went by, I kind of just took up the protective, older brother role, although she's the elder one.

Eventually, she got used to me being around and started telling me her, I don't know, secrets? If her telling me that she has a crush on Heechul qualifies as a secret, then yeah. And she knows I like Ava so I think you can call them secrets.

Coming back to the point, Amara and I are close. In fact, she's the closest to me after Ava from UniT.

"Looks like someone forgot about me already huh?" She asks in a bossy tone. I laugh and reply, "It hasn't even been a day since I left," She clicks her tongue and I hear a chair being dragged across the floor.

"What're you doing this early?" I wedge the phone between my ear and shoulder as I help mom set up the table. "It's 9 am," She deadpans. "It's pretty early for you," I drag out the last syllable.

"You're super lame, I don't even know why I'm friends with you. Anyway, where's my main hoe?" She asks. "Who, Ava?" She scoffs, "Duh, who else?" I look around to find her.

"Apparently becoming close friends with grandma," I tell when I see Ava and grams laughing together. "Was not expecting that. Anyway, I called to ask when you're going to tell Ava that you like her?"

"After breakfast," I sigh. "I'm really nervous Ams," I sink in the chair. "Hey don't be," Her voice becomes soft, like a mom's tone when she advises her children.

"I overheard Ava telling Kook that she likes you," I rake my messy hair with my fingers. "All that's fine but what if she changed her mind?"

"That's plain bullshit," She chuckles. "Thanks for the confidence," I sarcastically say. "I don't have time to talk to you, I'm going on a Super Junior marathon," Laughing, I say, "Super Junior marathon or a Heechul marathon?"

"Shush, it's all the same," She quickly says. "Whatever you say noona," I teasingly say, knowing she hates it when I call her that. "I hate you," She spits and hangs up on me.
