14- Moving countries, pinky promises, and a charm

Chapter 14

After they reached home, the girls took a nice cold shower while the guys headed to the pool. Both the guys and girls couldn't concentrate on anything except thinking about what happened in the evening.

Ava while doing her math homework put down her pencil and suddenly started crying.

Mia noticed. She sat next to Ava and asked, "Are you thinking about what Tae said?"

Ava replied without looking up, "Yes. Taehyung wasn't able to give me a proper answer. Does that mean that he wasn't my true friend? He acted like he doesn't care about me anymore."

Mia seemed startled at what she said. For a girl who just started school, what she just said made a lot of sense.

She replied "It's not like that. He was not able to answer your question because even he was still upset about what happened."

"Girls I need all of you to come to the living room." Mia's mom yelled from downstairs.

"I saw you talking to the boys on the way back home. I do not appreciate you girls behaving like this after you were given such a warning. But it doesn't matter from now on because all our families, Mia, Ava and Zoe's are moving to Singapore! Since all our families are starting a new business, it might as well be a very good decision to move to a place where we can sell the product in huge quantities."

Zoe could not believe what she just heard. Mia shouted "Mom I cannot believe you're doing this to us. You tell us not to talk to our only friends and now you tell us that we're moving countries."

Mia's mom sighed. "Okay, girls you can talk to guys one last time. We will be leaving the day after."

Jungkook was hanging out at Tae's house when he suddenly heard a soft whimper. He turned back and saw Taehyung crying.

He asked "What's wrong? Are you sad about that happened on the way back home?" Tae nodded. 

Jungkook said, "Well it's not like you could have done anything."

Tae said "Ava's eyes were filled with water. I could not give her a proper answer."

Before Jungkook could reply, Tae's father screamed, "Boys I want both of you to come down now."

"I know this going to be hard but, we will be moving to South Korea, all the seven of our families, the day after, because we think it will be better if we move right now at this age."

Taehyung spoke up first, "Dad, that way can we talk to the girls tomorrow?"

His dad replied, "Yes, you can."

The next day, fortunately, was a holiday and the 10 children met at the park.

Zoe said, "We have something to tell you all.  Tomorrow all of us are moving to Singapore and today is the last day we can see each other."

Namjoon said "We have something to tell you also. We are also moving to South Korea tomorrow."

Zoe broke down at once.

Jungkook said, "Zoe it's okay don't cry. I am sure someday we will meet. I know it."

They spoke for hours and played happily. But the time had come. The time they had to leave. But Ava bought something special. 

It was a cute little heart-shaped charm that she made. No one could hold back their tears.

Ava said, "I want all of you to pinky promise me that you will never forget us and we will meet each other someday."

 Everyone intertwined their pinkies and their bond was surely unbreakable.

After coming home they packed all their clothes with a heavy heart. As Zoe was packing, she took off her charm from the neck and wrapped it around her wrist like a bracelet, that way she could look at it more often. 

After she was done packing, since she felt cold, she decided to sit near the fireplace. She went downstairs and she saw something burning in the firewood. She took a closer look and her eyes opened wide, filled with horror.
