Chapter 45

"Okay, I got that. But how do I know if it's the 'r' sound or 'l' sound?" Zoe asks as she adjusts her round-framed, gold-tone glasses on her nose bridge. "It's pretty confusing." I agree.

"It depends from word to word. You'll know once you start learning more vocabulary and you'll figure it out on your own." Jin explains and the other boys nod.

"Okay, I have another doubt," Mia says and Jin looks at her. "How do I know if this character is silent or 'ng' "?

Jin sighs. "You'll know only when you start learning more." "Well then teach us more!" Mia exclaims. Namjoon clears his throat. "What?" Mia flatly asks.

"You guys took three hours to learn Hangul and it has like what, 24 characters. If we start teaching you more, we'll probably be sitting here the whole day." He complains.

"Hey, it wasn't me that took so long, it was this slow-witted dumb bitch!" I hit the side of Mia's head.

"Ow, that hurt you asshole!" She says in pain and pushes me from my chair but I hold on to the table so I don't fall.

"Language!" Jhope scolds and we immediately stop talking. Zoe and Jimin are trying hard not to laugh and I glare at them.

"We're done for now. Go back to your rooms and keep writing them over and over again. Make sure you know the pronunciations." Suga tells us.

"Why are we done this quickly?" Zoe whines. "Because we have to prepare for our comeback and so do you. So go!" Tae shoos us away from his and Namjoon's room.

Mia, Zoe, and I all look at Jin, hoping he'd be on our side. But when we get this reaction, there was nothing left to say.

"Some teachers you are," Mia mutters. "We can go hard on you if you want," Jimin says quietly and Suga nudges his arm. "Huh?" Mia asks.

"Nothing important." Suga brushes it off. I give Jimin a knowing smile, to which he slightly blushes. I walk back to my room, fixated on learning Hangul.

"Ava, hold up!" Tae catches up. "What is it?" I ask, clutching my pen and notebook in my right hand. "You want some help with studying?" He asks.

"Uh, I don't think so," I slowly reply. "Not for now, at least," I add when I saw his face droop a little.

"So you'll call me when you need help?" He asks with a hopeful smile. "Sure," I smile brightly at him. "Go practice for your comeback now," I tell him when we reach my door. "But before that, how's the planning going for your performance?" He asks, leaning on the wall.

"Oh, we're done with the lyrics and the tune. The choreography is halfway done. We still have to record the song and shoot the MV," I shortly pause to make sure I've covered everything. "Yeah, that's pretty much what's going on." Tae nods and we say our byes.
