Chapter 51

I walked into the restaurant, looking around to find Samara. "Hey!" Her voice reaches my ear and I make my way through the hotel, making sure to avoid tripping into the chairs.

I remove my sunglasses and place them on the table. She hands me the menu and I roughly look through it.

"Ready to order ladies?" A waiter suddenly comes up, startling me a little. Samara greets him politely and goes on to order pork chop and a potato salad, while I order zoodles primavera with chicken.

"Anything to drink?" He asks and we both decline. "Thank you," We say in unison as he leaves to prepare our order.

"So?" I try to strike up a conversation. "So?" She repeats after me causing me to laugh. "Wow this sounds like two people on their awkward first date," Samara says and I laugh again.

"What's the deal with you and Taehyung?" I finally gain the courage to ask. She looks at me straight in the eye, not knowing what to say. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," I quickly add.

Her face softens at this. She takes a sip of water out of the glass and starts, "I really liked him back in high school. But one day, after coming back from school, my parents told me we were moving."

"I begged them, cried my heart out, fell in their feet, tried locking myself up in my room, refused to eat. I even told them that I'd be fine if I stay with Aunt April, but they didn't listen to me."  Her voice started to shake and her eyes become glassy.

I placed my hand over hers, hoping it'd be of some comfort. She took her hand in mine and held them tightly.

"The only reason I did all this, was to not leave him," She chuckles slightly, looking down. "He was the only guy who understood me. We used to sit beside each other in every class, used to have lunch together. We wrote a lot of songs and performed them in front of the whole school."

"Hold on, aren't you older than him?" I confusedly ask. "Mhm," She nods. "Then, how did you have the same class?" I ask.

"Oh, we were put in the same class based on the subjects we took, not the age or grade," She explains. I nod in reply, as she continues talking.

"We were known as the golden couple in our school," She laughs. "We won a lot of quizzes together. We were teamed up quite often. Since we got good grades, we always had a friendly competition all the time." She lets out a long sigh.

By the looks of it, she was still into him.

Yeah Ava, no shit.

"Anyway, I ended up shifting. I finished school there, went to university for 2 years, graduated, dated a few guys here and there but nothing serious. We came back to South Korea around 6 months back."

"I wanted to do something in the music industry. That was something Taehyung and I was fixated upon for however long I can remember. We both loved performing, singing, and dancing. We were good at it too." I chuckle as I listened to her story.

"When I first saw Taehyung on TV, I completely lost it. I cried for 2 days straight. I hadn't talked to him in 3 years, it was the worst mistake I ever made. I couldn't bring myself to talk to him or hear his voice. I was so embarrassed. I was a coward, I'll give you that."

"And then BigHit said that they were having auditions for a girl group, I was determined to get selected. I wanted to be with him again."

This girl is head over heels for Taehyung. And I decided that I had to stay away from him. It'll be difficult, that's for sure.
