Chapter 65

"Yeah, I already gave the keys to Taehyung before leaving to the mall," Jimin says on the other side of the phone. "Is it a long drive from the airport?" I ask as I wedge my phone between my ear and my shoulder.

I'd prefer it if it was a short drive because I don't think I can handle an hour-long plane and another hour of driving with Taehyung. I wouldn't be surprised if he ditches me at the airport and goes to the beach house by himself.

"If you consider a 45-minute ride long, then yes it is," He replies, slurping on a drink. "Oh no," I groan, wearing my watch.

"I thought you wanted to spend alone time with him?" He asks. I didn't tell Jimin about the fight that Taehyung and I had.

"Yeah," I sigh. "Is everything okay? Your voice sounds a little dull for a girl who's going on a three-day vacation with her potential boyfriend," He says and I scoff, shaking my head. "If only it was that easy."

"Did you guys have a fight or whatever?" I decided against telling him anything. I don't want to make him mad at me too.

"Not at all," I laugh and glance at the clock. 2:48 pm. "Hey I need to leave now, I'll call you after I get there," He clears his throat and replies, "Alright, travel safe, have fun and don't do anything dumb," I walk to the mirror and look at my reflection one last time.

"I know, I know," I nod. "Most importantly, try not to piss off Taehyung," He seriously says. "Trust me when I say, he's the worst person to travel with when he's mad."

Too late buddy.

"Thanks for heads up," I mutter. "Okay, call me if you need help with directions. I already sent the location to both of you," I hear Mia saying something faintly in the back. "And Mia says she won't forgive you if you don't kiss him."

"Tell her to shut up," I roll my eyes. "I'm hanging up now," I roll out the suitcase from my bedroom to the living room. "Cool, bye," He says and I cut the call.

With a long sigh, I sit on the couch, waiting for Taehyung to text me about the time the taxi's arriving. I wait for ten minutes but when nothing comes, I decide to go to Kook's room to ask what the hell I'm supposed to do now because anything I do now is going to end up the way I don't want it to.

I turn off all the lights after checking if all the faucets are closed. I'm going to give my keys to Kook anyway and even if the faucets are open, he'll close them.

But I always do this before leaving my room for a few days. It's something about doing them myself that makes me more satisfied.

I lock the room behind me, rolling my suitcase across the hallway to Kook's room. I open the door as I'm looking down at my phone. I freeze when I hear Taehyung's voice.

I dare not to look up and continue looking at the phone, biting my inner cheek and praying for this moment to be over quickly. "She's here," Hobi says and the room falls silent.

"Oh good, I was just about to text you," Tae casually says. I slowly look up, confused about why he's talking to me like nothing happened. He's wearing a black beanie, a brown shirt, and a black mask pulled down to his neck.

He holds up his phone and waves it. "I came to drop my keys off," I tell him and toss them to Kook. "Is the taxi here?" I ask slowly. "It will be in 2 minutes," He says, checking his phone.

I nod and lean against the wall, playing with the handle of my suitcase. I'm way too ashamed even to sit by him, I don't know how I'm going to go through three full days.

The three of them keep talking and I eventually zone out. "Ava," Tae touches my shoulder and I jump in surprise. "Woah," I hurriedly take a step back, hitting my head against the door in the process.
