A simple "thanks" left Cheryl's mouth as she looked down, playing with her perfectly manicured nails. When she looked back up, her eyes locked into yours.
"Would you care to join me for lunch? I saved you a spot" You moved over patting the seat next to you.
"You say that like you knew I was going to walk past you"
"Of course I did, I know you better than you know yourself and I happen to know, that around this time every day you walk past this exact table looking for me" You gave her a wink which earned you a chuckle in return.
"I do not!" She said as her cheeks slowly started to turn a pale red colour. You smile at how Cheryl Blossom, the HBIC can become a shy, awkward girl with such simple words
"I also know that a certain someone walks past the gym every afternoon to see if the vixens are practising, just so (she/he) can see if a certain red head is there" This time it was your turn to give a small smile and look down at your left over lunch.
You feel someone sit next to you and feel a warm sensation in your hands. Cheryl had sat down and taken hold of your hands, staring deeply at the side of your head, begging you to look at her.
"Maybe next time, they can come into the gym and watch me practice?" Cheryl raised an eyebrow and waited for your response. Butterflies swarmed in her stomach and her nerves were beginning to get the best of her.
"That sounds wonderful, they'll be there!"
"Good" A small amount of time went past as you two sat in silence, thinking about all the possibilities. Cheryl broke the silence by leaning in and placing a gentle kiss on your cheek.
"I'll see you then (Y/N)" She gave you a giant grin and a wink as she walked away, heels clacking against the floor, each step in time with your heavy beating heart.
