Sara nervously bounced her leg, a trait that you have never seen before. Her eyes staring into the distance while her brain races to keep up with her thoughts. Today's the day she finally asks you to join the crew, to join her. There was no one she'd rather be trapped on a time ship with, if only she knew how to say it.
"The Legends, they are my family" she blurted out, her eyes now focused on you. You were shocked by the sudden noise, content with the silence around you.
"I can see how much you love them, it must be nice to have a family" you offered her a soft smile, one filled with sadness. The thought of not being with her, was enough to bring your mood down.
"You know, you could always be a part of our family. We're pretty good at taking in strays" She placed her hand gently on your knee, a calming technique for both of you. You rolled your eyes at the invitation, not knowing whether it was a compliment or an insult.
"Well with that welcoming invite, I'm going to have to join"
"You know what I mean" she playfully hits your arm. A moment passed, the sound of the busy streets behind you filled the air. "I don't want to leave you anymore" her eyes were sincere, deeply gazing into yours.
"You won't get bored of me?" A quick flash of vulnerability appeared on your face. Sara's life was full of adventure, where would a boring human like yourself fit in?
"Bored?! Are you serious? I could never, besides there are plenty of ways to keep us entertained" her signature smirk firmly in place, she added a small wink to the comment. You quickly stood up, grabbing Sara by the arm
"Why are we wasting time sitting here? Let's go!" you gently tugged on her arm before she gave in. She rose to her feet, leading you towards the cloaked Wave Rider.
