You've been counting down the days until you could see Debbie back in action. However you had this misconceived idea that she would at least tell you when she had been released. You had to find out through Tammy, her phone was flashing with said persons name. You bottled up your feelings, holding them until it was the right time to unleash. You knew where Lou lived and had a hunch that you could find Debbie there. The whole car trip you rehearsed what you were going to say, your blood boiling as you thought of the situation. Your car came to a halt just outside of the building. You wasted no time, barging in on their group conversation. As the door slammed, everyone's attention was focused on you. A few were shocked while the others were confused. Debbie raised her head, her eyes went wide when she saw you. She had the heist planned out perfectly, every variable but she did not have a plan for this.
"How dare you! After I stuck by you, you didn't think to mention that you had been released?" Your voice bounced off the walls, growing louder by the minute.
"How about we take this somewhere more private?" Lou gently grabbed your arm as you reluctantly followed. She led you to a room out the back, leaving you two in the centre of it.
"And you!" You raised an accusing finger towards Lou. "You knew this whole time and didn't think to mention it?"
"I was just respecting Debbies wishes" she shrugged her shoulders, not fazed by this sudden outburst
"Y/N, I was going to tell you, I was just waiting for the right time" Debbie stepped closer, mimicking her action you stepped backwards
"When would have been the right time? Tomorrow? Next month? A year from now? Because all I'm seeing is the next job, that could quite possibly lead you back to prison" you crossed your arms, a deep scowl on your face as you look at Debbie
"It's not like that, I'm doing this for you"
"That's the oldest play in the book" you rolled your eyes at the corny line
"I'm serious. When I was sent away, I promised you money, I promised that we would be able to live comfortably, together. That didn't happen and that left you with nothing to your name and no one to take care of you. I spent five years making a plan to benefit you, us" she motioned her hand between herself and you.
"If that's the case, why didn't you just tell me?" Your hard demeanour faltered and you were more concerned than anything
"I wanted it to be a surprise, I wanted to pick up where we left off and offer a fresh start. I also didn't want you involved so you could have plausible deniability"
"Well I guess you didn't have a full proof plan or else you would have figured out a way to avoid this" you laughed, breaking the heavy atmosphere around you
"This is true, honestly I didn't think you would come looking for me this fast" you take a few steps forward, you gave her a small smile
"I love you Debbie, of course I was going to notice that you were missing" you pulled her into a hug, enjoying the touch that you were deprived of for five years.
"I love you too Y/N" she mumbled into your neck, savouring this moment.
"How about we go explain to the others what just happened?" You pulled away from her, placing a kiss on her lips. Debbie nodded before taking your hand and leading you towards the main room. The woman were exactly where you left them, with same confused looks on their faces.
