Meta-Human, a term that you thought you were finally getting used to. With your line of work, nothing is impossible and each day there is a new evil, a new villain, a new meta human. You discover, you fight, you lock them up. That is the routine you have fallen accustomed to. So when this new meta human walked into your life, you thought it would play out exactly the way it always has. Discover, fight, lock up. However you soon realised that this meta would change the way you think and feel.

You were called in by Dr Wells to help your team with a bank robbery and to keep The Flash on the task at hand. This has become the norm for you since you discovered STAR Labs and began to work with them rather than against them. To say the least STAR Labs has become more than a place of work, it's become a family and it was how you met your girlfriend Caitlin.

Barry had just gotten back from the bank and you couldn't believe his story. A meta who can effect so many people and make them kill each other. This is a powerful ability to have and one that you definitely wouldn't want to witness. You sat down at your desk and helped Cisco find a way to neutralise him, you went through every piece of information you could find but there was a piece missing and you couldn't seem to locate it. You worked hours upon hours on this case with the help of the team but nothing seemed to work, so you decided to call it a day and take your research home with you. As you were walking home you came across some sort of riot in the middle of the street. The closer you got to the scene, you could see 5 people arguing with each other, moments away from a physical altercation. As a curious bystander, you walked closer to see, something was pulling you closer to the scene. Amongst the group was a strange man with glowing red eyes, you tried to look away but you were in a trance. Suddenly your whole mood was changed, worry was replaced with anger and your curiosity was replaced with darkness. You couldn't quite describe what you were feeling but you knew it wasn't good.

You woke up the next morning with a migraine and no recollection of how you made it home. The last thing you remember was those glowing red eyes staring into yours. You quickly shook that thought away and began to get ready for work. You make your way into the building like you do every day and the first sentence that was thrown your way was;

"Where have you been? Haven't you checked your phone? I've left millions of messages for you" Caitlin said with her arms crossed, staring at you with an angry look on her face

"I was at home catching up on some much needed sleep. Why? It's not like I went to fight crime like Barry" You let out a small chuckle

"Well then how do you explain this?" She turns around the computer screen and as clear as day was a street camera photo of you fighting the meta human.

"Where did that come from? I don't remember doing any of this" You stepped closer to the monitor, leaning in close to see if it was real

"So you're telling me that this never happened? That I'm the one who's crazy in this situation"

"No, I'm saying that I can't remember this. That the last thing I can remember from last night is me walking over to people arguing. Anything in between then and now is completely blank" You could feel the energy building up inside of you, your anger was returning and it gave you a rush of power.

"I don't care what your excuse is but you know how I feel about these things (Y/N), I can't lose you like I lost Ronnie" She slowly walks towards you, hoping that you will understand her words. However that last sentence sent you over the edge

"This will be the last time I say this Caitlin, I am not Ronnie. I will never be like Ronnie. Stop pushing your own insecurities onto me when I am perfectly fine" You slammed your fist on the table, making everything shake. Caitlin looked between you and the exit, you were scaring her. She has never seen you like this but when she saw your eyes flash red, it all came together. She quickly pressed the alarm button underneath the desk, knowing that this would send a signal out to the team.

"I am sick and tired of hearing about Ronnie, can't you find someone else to compare me to? Or am I going to forever walk in this guys shadow?" You began to walk back and forth, trying to find a path through your anger. The room shaking with each footstep you took.

"What do you mean? I have never compared you to him" She stood her ground. Knowing that the team would come running, gave her a false sense of confidence

"Are you kidding me? No matter what I do, whether it's good or bad. You always mention Ronnie. How good he was at building things, how he died and how that means I have to be careful. How amazing he was. Do you know how that makes me feel? I will never be good enough, worse I will never be like him!" Before you could register what was happening you used your powers to throw Caitlin up against the wall. You used your powers to tighten your grip around her neck, you watched as she gasped for air. You knew what you were doing was wrong but you couldn't stop it. Your heart didn't want to hurt her but your mind and body did.

"Please (Y/N), you don't want to hurt me, please just let me go" Her voice breaking as she tries to breathe. Her eyes were getting heavy and she was holding on to her last breath. She hit and kicked the wall as she tried to fight it, her eyes never leaving yours.

Her eyes slowly closed and her body became limp. She dropped to the floor and showed no sign of waking up. At this moment you should be feeling pain, sadness and regret but instead it fuelled your angry. You heard a noise in front of you and tensed at the sound. The meta had found you and was ready to continue his work.

When he noticed you hovering over a dead body, he smiled in victory. He noticed your eyes glowing red and congratulated himself on how the events unfolded. He couldn't have achieved this goal without you. What a brilliant way to knock out team flash.

"If you want to continue breathing I would suggest you wipe that look of your face" you balled your fists and began to walk closer to him

"Doesn't matter what happens to me, you have already ruined your life. Team flash will never accept you now, better go friend a new group. My power gave you strength, do you really think you could hurt me?" He held his head up high and took a daring step towards you. His eyes started to glow as he continued to push you closer to the edge. They grew brighter with every passing second and you could feel your anger rising.

"You're right, I don't need strength, I just need your power" You used all the strength you had left and reflected his power. He stumbled back, trying to gain his composure. You pushed harder and felt your body grow weaker. His body turned a shade of red that matched his eyes and he began to scream in pain. You took a small step towards him, a last ditch effort to end him once and for all. Steam started to radiate off his body and in a blink of an eye, he evaporated. Burnt from the inside out.

You let the pain and exhaustion wash over your body and you fell to the floor. You laid next to the woman you loved, looking at her wishing it had turned out differently. You had enough energy to lift your hand to touch her face.

"I'm sorry" escaped your lips as your mind drifted away. Your last thought was of being with her once more as you closed your eyes and accepted your fate.
