"Ameera, honey! It's almost time for school," Stevie shouted from the bottom of the stairs to her daughter.

Ameera was probably making herself up, upstairs. "Okay, I'm coming!" she finished the last couple touches on her face. She loved to look at old photos of her mother from the '70s and replicate her makeup. She came running down the stairs.

Stevie had a smile on her face. "Did you do it?"

Her daughter smiled. "Yep!" she shut her eyes to show her mom.

Stevie tilted her chin up to the light, looking at her huge brown eyes, "Very nice! I love it," she kissed her daughter on the cheek.

"Me too!" her father walked in. "What do we like?" Lindsey gave Stevie a kiss---walking in from retrieving the newspaper.

"My makeup! what do you think, daddy?"

He rolled his eyes. "Gorgeous, but you look better without it, just like your mom," he sat down at the table and sipped his coffee.

"Don't worry, it's not for anyone else but me. I love the way mom did her makeup back in the day."

Stevie smiled, she loved how her daughter was an old soul and free spirit. "Have something to eat before you go to school honey, that's why you get shakey during the day."

"Okay, mama." Her mom had made her a bagel with cream cheese.

"Us too, Linds."

He looked up at her, "What did we do?"

Stevie put a plate in front of him, "We never eat, we're probably the ones teaching her bad eating habits."

Their daughter laughed at both of them. "No, no. It's not you guys. I promise. I just get so caught up in homework, writing, and knitting. I honestly don't really get hungry, until someone mentions I haven't eaten."

Lindsey looks at Stevie. "Well baby, it's not really good for you, hell it's not really good for us either," she chuckled.

Lindsey looked down at his watch. "I'm gonna warm up the car, we have to go," he got up, walked out and shut the front door behind him.

"I hate it when he does that." They both said in the same tone, at the same time. They look at each other and giggle.

"Daddy, is so rushy!" Ameera complained.

Stevie smiled. "Oh, don't I know it. Your daddy has been rushing me since 1970."

"How do you deal with that?" sbe watched how calm her mom is.

"Lots of tea and patience, you'll learn," her mom winked. "Ya got everything, baby doll?" she asked.

"Yeah, I think so," she checked her purse briefly, to make sure she had her sunglasses, sketchbook and journal if she got inspired. She had everything in one bag.

"Alright, let's go!"

They head out and into the car. Ameera was running slightly in her heel boots, not nearly as high as her mother's but heels nonetheless, she wore a tan dress, a black scarf, and a cape like shawl with some black leggings underneath. Her long dark brown almost black hair in small curls that hung down her back. She had dark curls like her father and Stevie loved that. Lindsey loved her dark eyes and full lips like her mother.

Stevie and Lindsey would drop their daughter off and head to the studio, they were working on an album with the rest of the Mac. They normally dropped Ameera off early because Stevie and Lindsey, themselves had to work, when school was in session it was easier to do the early morning thing. When they pulled up to the school, Ameera took off her seat belt and leaned forward to give her parents in the front a kiss. "Love you!" she hopped out.
