Karen pulled up to the studio.
Ameera grabbed her purse, checked her lipstick in the car mirror.
When they walked in the room, all they saw was people skattered everywhere. Everyone was talking about something, that had to do with music.
Sharon and Lori; talking about some harmony parts with her mom.
John and her dad were talking about guitars.
Mick and Christine just were chatting about one of Christine's new songs. Aside from the people mentioned, there was still many different people, to help them with certain parts, just for a second opinion. Ameera was normally, always greeted when she walked through the door, she was a splitting image of both her parents.
Stevie looked up and saw her daughter standing in the middle of the room. "Ameera, honey?" she waved her hand for Ameera to come sit with her. "How was your day, baby?" she gave her a kiss on the forehead.
She nodded. "It was okay," she kind of sighed, she really hated that question a lot. Not just because her day was good or bad but, it was really hard question for whatever reason.
Stevie knew something was making their daughter unhappy but she just couldn't place it. It was easy to tell when something was wrong with her, but she wouldn't say it even if she was asked. She had the stubborness of both her parents so it was impossible to get anything out of her, she could hide her emotions so deep, that sometimes it hurt Ameera. "That's good, honey." Stevie half smiled.
"How about you, mama? how has your day been?"
Stevie let out a breath. "Okay, better now that you're here with me." She felt most comfortable when her daughter was around her. She knew Ameera was a good girl, but she still worried. "Got any new songs to record?" sge asked her daughter.
Ameera's face totally lit up. "Yes, I do! I wasn't too busy at school today so I had time to write."
Stevie smiled at her, she had the same passion for music and writing, like Stevie did.
Ameera immediately hopped into what they were talking about prior to sitting down with them. They finished the song Stevie was working on and Ameera headed to the recording box. As she made her way in that direction, Lindsey called her name.
"Ameera?" he smiled.
She turned and faced towards him. A smile crept along her lips as she looked at him.
"Where's my hug?" he asked.
She ran to him and hugged him tightly.
"I didn't even see you come in," he kissed the top of her head. "How was school?"
She had gotten tired of hearing that question today, she pulled away from him slightly. "Do I have to answer that, again?"
He looked at her in confusion. "What do you mean, sweetheart?" he held her hands, and he started to get the look in her eyes, Stevie must've been talking about. She wasn't totally happy and he could tell. Lindsey got the hint she didn't wanna answer, he shook his head, "Nevermind, go record your songs," he gave her a smile, but when she turned away, it had immediately dropped.
Stevie had always loved to watch Ameera and Lindsey's interaction together, but this time Stevie could see dissapointment in Lindsey's face and an annoyance or tiredness in her daughter's.
Ameera's moods would change in the snap of a finger, she went from depression to excitement. Stevie and Lindsey watched their daughter perform her songs and talk through them, for one reason or another. She had the talent of her parents and it was obvious. She was like a true professional. When Ameera was done she took the headphones off, and came out of the soundbox, her parents and the rest of the of people watching, were clapping for her.
