"Ameera, just tell me, honey." Lindsey swipes her face again. "I know you were sick, but why? I know you know why."
"Did mom tell you already?" She asks and she was still looking at Osmond. Tears were welling up in her eyes. She knew if she answered truthfully that could start another problem.
"No, she didn't. She said you didn't wanna tell me. Is that true?" Lindsey asks.
"I didn't, I still don't." She puts her head down.
"Why, honey?" Lindsey felt a little hurt by her response. Osmond was upset by watching everything- knowing he, himself was the issue from day one. "Why don't you wanna tell me? Baby, you should have told me. I didn't know why you were sick and I was so worried."
"It was because of me." Osmond couldn't take their pain. It was back and forth and hitting him hard.
"What?" Lindsey asks.
"She was sick because of me." He says and Stevie walks into the living room and Ameera was crying.
"How does that even make sense?" Lindsey stands and Stevie sits on the couch and comforts Ameera as best as she could.
"This is what I was afraid of." Ameera whispers to her mom.
"I know." Stevie rubs the side of her face sort of rocking her.
"How are you the reason, my daughter was sick?" Lindsey's voice was a little hard.
"I left her." Osmond says- matching Lindsey's overpowering voice. "We were together for three weeks and I left her. I left her for three weeks."
"When did you leave?"
"The day after I went to ER." Stevie answers.
"Did you know about this?" Stevie nods her head. "What the fuck, Stevie?"
"Please, stop." Ameera says to the yelling but Lindsey just disregarded her wish.
"I am the cause for everything that has happened to her." Osmond says truthfully.
"Why wasn't any of this brought to my attention?" Lindsey looks at all three people in the room.
"Because, I didn't want you to know." Ameera squeaks.
"Why not?" He gets on his knee and met her on the floor.
"She was afraid of losing me." Osmond answers.
"Okay, last time I checked- I wasn't asking you." Lindsey turns back towards Ameera.
"Please, stop." Ameera puts her hand over Lindsey's.
"Honey-"
"No." Ameera says softly and starts to stand. What she really wanted was for Osmond to hold her. "I don't want you away from me." Ameera says to Osmond in a whispering tone. Both her hands were on his chest and he had her locked in his full embrace.
"I don't want you away from me either, but-" his voice matched her quiet one.
"But, nothing. We can't be away from each other." Her eyes were sparkling with tears and she looked up into his dark eyes. He swipes a tear from her cheek.
"I know." He looks over at Lindsey. "I can't have you get sick again, not because of my absence."
"I could have died if you wouldn't have come back." Ameera wasn't trying to be dramatic but it was the truth. She could have gotten sicker and her condition could have gotten worse.
"I know, I am so sorry for putting you through all of that." He says in a softer defeated tone.
Lindsey wasn't really listening to what was being said- he was caught up in his own thoughts.
