The next couple weeks had gone by and Stevie and Lindsey had been home a lot. At the beginning, when Simona had planned to drive out to San Jose to help take things from the flat---she visited Ameera's parents to reassure she was okay and to pick up Rhiannon. That was her final journey in the southern part of California. She'd then help her friend settle up north and would then go back home to Texas. Lindsey was a little depressed but he continued to care for his very pregnant wife. She had done her best to stay charitable for her husband and even though she did break down often, she still managed to lift herself back up enough to make sure Lindsey didn't see that and so that her baby would come out fine. She didn't wanna make herself sick.
Barbara and Jess had a come a few days before Stevie's due date which was the twentieth. They luckily have not missed anything. When her parents got there, it was clear Ameera wasn't home so when it came up in question, Stevie and Lindsey just told them that she and Osmond got a place. Neither one of then wanted to tell her parents what had happened and it was the best thing. Stevie knew it would give her dad a bad memory of when she left and she knew her mom would become irritated and she didn't want that. She wanted to carry out the rest of her pregnancy in peace. Peace wouldn't be exactly the word since one of the most important people were missing. She would just say temporary contentment.
"So is Ameera supposed to come?" Jess asked with slight irritation. He hated that she fleed in the midst of an important time for both parents.
"I don't know, dad--- she had a lot of things on her mind when she left," his daughter assured. She had mentioned it a couple days ago, but she could sense he was mad.
"I can only think of one," he responded. He had noticed Lindsey quite distant, but still excited. He believed his granddaughter should have waited till after the baby was born to run off with her boyfriend. But he was, and Barbara were undestined to realize there was a reason behind it.
"Jess, please?" Barbara's soft voice responded. She was beginning to see some conflict within her daughter and her granddaughter's choice. She wasn't going to ask questions because, she just wanted to be of help to her daughter. She didn't particularly like that Jess was hammering his daughter with questions. It was unnecessary for his daughter's current stress problems of having another baby.
"Look, a lot happened and she needed to leave, okay?" Stevie mentioned. "She told me once the baby was born, she would come and meet them," which was true. Ameera did say that in a letter to her mom. Lindsey did not see that since she hid the note from him. He had just began getting less upset over the last weeks. Stevie and himself tried to keep focus on the baby to come. The last thing she wanted was to get him all excited and preparing to tell her so many things that would cause an issue.
"I don't think she should have left," her father stated.
"You don't think I should've left either, but I did and we have a good relationship because of that," Stevie responded once more.
Jess looked up at her.
"Personal space and time is the key to happiness," she assured.
…
Stevie and her mother were in the kitchen making a mess with everything as they giggled over some conversation. Stevie still, very much enjoyed mother-daughter time with her mom. She was lucky to blessed with her mom. Her mom was tough on her a teen, but she did get her spoiled moments of being a diva. Mostly she was spoiled by her father. Once Christopher came along, did Barbara start babying him and Stevie was jealous to no end. But she was still a daddy's little princess. That's what made it so hard for him to except her letting go.
