"Were you?" he asked, chuckling.

"Yeah, daddy. I wanted to wish you and mama luck for the show tonight."

"Oh. Well in that case; thanks, sweetie."

"No problem," she chuckled.

"Anyway, how's school?" he asked.

"Uh, it's alright. Rebecca, Houston and I have been hanging out. It's been fun," she assured.

"What are you doing up so early?" he asked.

"Oh, grandpa and I went to the farmer's market. I actually ran into Houston there, so he showed me around a bit. Everything's so different since the last time we were here."

"Yeah?"

"Mhmm."

He chuckled. "Anyway, wanna talk to your mom?"

"Yeah," she said happily.

"Okay, hold on." He then put the phone to his chest and began looking for his wife in the hotel room. They'd been there since early  morning and she was unpacking and moving about the room like a maniac, since she couldn't sleep. "Steph?"

"I'm right here," she said, coming out of the restroom. "What's up?"

"Daughter."

"Oh," Stevie smiled and took the phone. "Hi, baby?" she smiled and Ameera could here her mom's happy tone.

"Hey, mommy. How are you?"

"Oh, I'm good, just a little tired. And hungry." She put the phone to her chest. "Lindsey, can you get some food?"

"I can," he agreed. He put on his jacket and then made his was out the door.

"Thank you." Stevie then went back to the phone. "So how about you? How've you been?"

"Okay," she answered.

"Uh-oh, what happened?" Stevie asked.

"Nothing, mom."

"Baby, talk to me. Something's wrong and I can tell. If you tell me I can help you."

"It's not that important. I have to settle it myself," she argued.

"Okay, can I have a brief summary?" Stevie asked and Ameera giggled.

"I guess," she sighed. "Ya know Houston?"

"Mhmm."

"Well, apparently he likes me or liked me. I don't know. He was very upset at the fact that I have Osmond."

"Mm..."

"What?"

"Nothing, I'm just listening. Anyway, how do you feel?"

"Horrible. I didn't know he liked me. He was very cold and distant from me. I hope he doesn't hate me."

"Awe, honey. Nobody could ever hate you, doll. He may just need some time to get over it. His pride was probably hurt, even if it happened indirectly."

"I guess. I'm gonna talk to Rebecca and see what she has to say."

"Okay, doll."

"So, you excited?" she asked about the concert.

"And extremely terrified. I'm super tired, this will be day number four and after this we have a mini break. It's like three days off, but. We have to go kind of fast."

"Yeah... next time I see you, you're gonna have a bigger tummy," she giggled.

"Ugh, don't remind me. Anyway, doll, say bye to your daddy. He just came in."
