When the Friday night celebration for Stevie and Lindsey's new baby was over, Stevie would drive them home. Stevie could drive she just didn't like to, however Lindsey over celebrated and it wasn't safe for him to drive. He was acting silly and Stevie was thankful he didn't get too plastard. She could still deal with him.
When they get home, Ameera helps her mom get Lindsey in the house as he slurs of happiness about the new baby. All Ameera and Stevie did was look at each other and laugh.
"Honey, I am so..." he pauses trying to think of a word, "thankful for the new baby, thank you so much!" He had his arms around both his girls as they tried to balance and keep him up right.
"Your welcome, Lindsey." Stevie answers him calmly, though he had thanked her many times that night.
"I'm sorry." Lindsey leans his head on Ameera as Stevie opened the front door.
"For what, daddy?" She puts her hand on his face.
"For putting you through this right now." He hugs her tightly. "I know you're going through something and I don't wanna make it worse." Ameera shoots a look at Stevie and Stevie shrugs at Ameera. She really thought he knew what was happening and she feared he did.
"It's alright, dad." She pats him on the cheek a little to keep him concious. "You could never bother me." She started to get choked up from the thought of him knowing.
When Stevie had finally gotten Lindsey in bed and he passed out she would change into her pajamas and visit her daughter.
Stevie taps on the door.
"Come in." Ameera says in a quiet tone.
"Hey, baby girl." Stevie walks in.
"Hi. How are you?" She sits up to talk to her mom.
"Better now." Stevie plops on the bed. "Your dad finally passed out." Ameera laughs.
"He is gonna feel it tomorrow for sure."
"That's why I planned this for a Friday night." Stevie chuckles. "How are you?"
"Mama, it's the same." She was being frank. "You keep asking, but it really is still the same. I love and appreciate you asking me but I don't wanna answer that anymore, for now." Stevie rubs her daughter's arm.
"Alright. When you want me to ask I will ask. I definetly don't want to push you, if you feel you can't."
"Thank you." She breaks eye contact and looks at her hands. She could still feel him when he would touch her hands and hold them tightly, the warmth he provided when he held her was gone. Ameera breaks away from staring at her hands and leans foward to lay on her mother's lap.
Stevie was the only one Ameera talked to about this situation. No one else really knew, people could see how Ameera had created distance in their relationship with her. They knew it had to do with Osmond. Most people would probably thought he broke up with her, but the heartbrokeness they saw was different than a real relationship being over with. They saw how close Ameera still kept him. They noticed his dissapearance and they believed that was contributer.
That night, Stevie would eventually retire to her room and stay by her husband. She knew he would definetly need her in the morning.
Very much like the last weekend Ameera would stay in her room and she would journal the feelings she felt. The one thing she couldn't seem to do was shake the scene, from the night he left.
"I'll be back, I promise. - Do you believe me?" His voice echoed in her head. She still feels his hands on her face. She answers him. "I do believe you, help me keep believing cause' I am starting to lose you." She prays her message can somehow get to him. Where ever he is she had an idea he can hear her. "Come on Angel. I am waiting for you." She thinks of him and talks to him not only when she is awake but also in her sleep.
