Ameera leaves her mom's room to get her dad, after discussing their plans for the next day.
"Daddy?" Lindsey stands up abruptly. "Mama wants you."
"Thanks, honey." He kisses Ameera on her forehead as he passed her to meet Stevie.
Ameera walks over to the lobby and Karen seemed to be napping. She took this as an opportunity to use the phone and call Osmond.
She asks to use the phone on the desk, once she gets the okay she dials his phone number. She knew it by heart. She sits and waits for him to answer as she hears it ring.
"Hi, beautiful." He answered the phone.
"How'd you know it was me?" She smiles as if he can see her.
"I just did." He laughs. "What's up?" He distracts her.
"Well, I talked to my mom." She waits.
"Great!" He exclaims "What did she say?" He gets excited.
"She said, tomorrow. Is that fine?" She is hoping the conversation ends soon so no one hears her.
"Yeah, but why tomorrow?" He didn't mind the one day wait, he was just curious as to why.
"Um-" She pauses and continues, "Well, we are at the hospital right now."
"What happened?!" He gets a little nervous.
"My mom passed out at work earlier today."
"Is she okay?" He worried for anything that had connection to Ameera.
"Yes, just uh-, hang tight till tomorrow, okay?" She tells him.
"Okay. Why?"
"My, my. You are one curious boy, aren't you?" She giggles. "It's a surprise."
"Alrighty, I'll see you tomorrow." He agrees, still laughing at her previous comment.
"Yes, I'll see you tomorrow, bye." She hangs up the phone and wanders back to where Karen was sitting.
When she sits down she can see her parents approaching the lobby. She shakes Karen a little to wake her.
"What's up?" Karen wakes up a little startled.
"Nothing, mom's out." Karen sees the couple coming towards them.
"Hey, guys." Stevie was in a wheelchair.
"What happened? I thought you were fine." Ameera was thrown by the wheelchair.
"It's alright, I am fine." She looks up at Lindsey behind her. "But, your father insisted he wheel me out." She uses her hands to emphasize a thrown. Ameera giggles.
"Daddy, she is fine. Why wheel her?" Stevie awaits an answer also.
"Hey, I am not taking chances. She is precious cargo." He leans his head on to Stevie's shoulder.
"Aww, that's sweet." She kisses the side of his face. "If I am precious cargo, try not to crash me, okay?" She then pats the side of his face.
"You got it, babe." Just to mess with her he takes off runnimg slightly.
"Oh, boy." Ameera laughs.
"Hey, I'm gonna take off. I'll see you after school, tomorrow." Karen says looking a little drowsy.
"Alright, let me get my bag from your car." They head out and Ameera gets her things.
Shortly after Ameera is back with her parents.
