Lindsey had no idea what to think when Osmond's eyes locked with his.
"Who are you?" Lindsey asks, still with Stevie blocking him slightly.
"Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Buckingham." Osmond puts his hand out to be shook. "Osmond Angel."
Lindsey stays quiet. He wasn't sure what to think of this kid. He seemed very brave almost. Lindsey wasn't too sure who he was. Even though it was obvious.
"Nice to meet you." Stevie says. She shook his hand. "Call me Stevie." She smiled warmley.
"Thank you, it's a pleasure." He sounds very refined. Stevie nods in agreement to his greeting. Lindsey still stayed quiet.
"Uh. And, this is my husband, Lindsey." Stevie thought he would never speak so she introduces him.
"I apologize for us meeting here like this." He says full of compassion. "I would have liked to meet you sooner, but the job I have took me away from here." He sort of lies, though it was true that he had a job that took him away from a lot of things.
Since Lindsey hadn't said much, Stevie invited Osmond to go walking for a while. That would also give Ameera a chance to clear things up with Lindsey.
"Osmond?" Stevie asks and he looks at her lovingly also with a questionable look. "Why don't we go for a walk?" She puts her and on his back and guides him out of the room, shutting the door behind her.
Lindsey doesn't look at him nor does he move. He kind of stares into space taking what he saw. Frankly he didnt know what he saw. He had no clue who this kid was, where he's from, what his intentions were, or why he was even there.
Ameera could see a mix of different emotions across her dad's face.
"Daddy?" She says quietly.
"Who was that?" He asks in a hurt tone.
"A piece of my soul." She responds. Lindsey walks toward her sitting on a plastic chair by her bed. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you about him before." She adds.
"How long have you known him?" She thinks back to her journal a moment.
"Since February twentieth." She responds. Lindsey kind of looks at the floor. Ameera couldn't tell whether he was sad or mad she just knew he was upset. "Daddy, please tell me what is wrong. I want to fix this."
"Honey- I don't know." Lindsey gathers his thoughts a moment as he pinches the bridge of his nose. "Who is he?"
"We don't exactly have a title," she is sure to mention. "... he and I met in the library and we started to hang out. I really enjoy his company." She says truthfully. "Do you remember when I was really upset a really long time ago, and I didn't want you to ask me how school was?" She tried to make him remember. "It was the same week when you guys got me Rhiannon." He remembers and nods.
"Yes. Your mom and I talked about you that Friday and we got you the cat the next day."
"Right. Well, weeks later I met him and that upsetting feeling I had was gone. He made me so happy. We have the same things in common and we talk." Lindsey stays kind of quiet. He was only thinking; Stevie was right. Maybe she needed a boyfriend. "Daddy, I know what your thinking. I want to tell you he's never once tried to take advantage of me in anyway."
"How'd you know I was thinking that?" He smiles and puts his hand on her knee.
"Well, you're a dad. You're my dad." She smiles. "Of course I know what you have to be thinking." To him he sounded like Stevie. He knew she was old enough and way wise enough to make this sort of decision herself and he knew he shouldn't get in the way of her happiness for his own.
