"Stay in a public place?" Barbara chuckled at her husband.
"What?" he said confused.
"Nothing," she put her hand up as defense. She was still laughing.
"I'm just working for Lindsey. I'm pretty sure he'd have asked the same."
"There is no doubt in my mind he would, but you boys are so protective."
"Well, you ladies are so not. I mean doesn't it bother you at all?"
"What?"
"The thought of someone touching her like that. I mean; she's so young and--" he shrugged.
"Jess, I feel like if it were a dangerous relationship, then yes. But I don't see any problem between these two and if there were an issue, I know our granddaughter would be smart enough, to know there was an issue and she'd tell us. Don't you think?"
"I do, but--"
"No buts. She is smart enough and I'm pretty sure she knows you have a shotgun."
He chuckled.
"She's perfect and like I said she'd tell us. Better yet she'd tell her own parents and Lindsey would probably ask you to borrow the shotgun. But frankly I don't think that is the case. Okay?"
"Okay," he shrugged.
"Just, I think following what Stevie says is key and we will listen to what Lindsey has to say. Like you said: Stevie gets her way and I'm pretty sure she is trying to get Lindsey on her side."
"Yeah..." Jess trailed. "So you think they're fine?" he questioned.
"I think they're perfect," she assured.
-
"So what do you wanna do?" Osmond asked Ameera.
"Uh, I don't know. Wanna go to a movie?" she asked.
"Whatever you want," he smiled. He wanted to make sure she was happy.
"Well, there is a few movies we can see this week. There's that one with Buffy, Julia Roberts, and that on about the boat that's supposed to be a romance."
"Okay," he nodded. "First, who's Buffy?"
"Oh, y'know that show? Buffy The Vampire Slayer?"
"Yes," he nodded.
"I can't remember her name in real life, but ya know who I'm talking about. Anyway she's in it."
"I think it's called: I Know What You Did Last Summer and the other one about the boat is called Titanic."
"Yeah," she said happily. "You're so smart."
"Just good memory," he chuckled. "And I've not heard about the one with Julia Roberts."
"Okay, but are those good for you?"
"They're fine," he assured. "Why are you so worried?" he questioned. He was starting to get fed up with not being able to read her thoughts. It worried him because, he thought he was losing his gift.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, you seem to be nervous or something. I can't really like, read your thoughts."
"You can't?" she questioned.
"It's like you're not letting me," he pulled over. He turned on to his side, facing toward her. "Are you sure you're okay?"
She kind of shrugged. "I don't know."
"Come here," he put his arms out for her and she curled up close to him, resting her head on his chest.
