Stevie walks over to Ameera with a great smile after the boys have introduced themselves properly. Ameera wasn't too nervous, and she was glad her mom could meet him and already have one on one time.
Lindsey seemed to be getting along well, though the room was still quiet. Stevie decides to break the silence.
"Well, why don't we go out and give Ameera a second to get ready, so we can go?" The boys nod and Stevie guides them both out. When they leave her, Osmond follows behind Stevie and Lindsey.
Lindsey and Stevie would sign the papers to discharge Ameera from the hospital and Osmond would wait in the lobby waiting. Lindsey couldn't help but watch him because he wanted to figure him out. Stevie nudges Lindsey to grab the pen to sign the papers. She notices him staring and nudges him again.
"What?" He whispers in a somewhat harsh tone.
"Stop staring at him!" She whispers back.
"I can't help it. I just don't know what to say or think or do." He signs the paper.
"Lindsey, there is nothing to do. I know it's gonna take some time for you to get used to this, but I told Ameera and-"
"Wait." They were still whispering.
"What?" She pulls him away from the desk so they wouldn't be in the way of others.
"You knew about this, too?" He refers to the Osmond situation and Stevie stays quiet because she doesn't want to answer, but she knows he's about to find out one way or another.
"Well, not particularly."
"What the hell does that mean?"
"I mean, I knew about him. But, I never knew they were together."
"Really?"
"Really." She shrugs. She was sort of lying cause she did know, but not until the day he left and Ameera was crushed. Stevie would never say that at all, because that would seriously cause Lindsey to kill this kid.
Just meeting Osmond already made Lindsey upset, telling him they've been together a few months and telling him he left their daughter and then came back is a whole other fiasco in a bag tied shut and Stevie was not about to untie it.
"Look. Lindsey, I can tell you're stressed and I am too. I want our daughter home and happy. If he makes her happy, then let it be." Stevie shrugs at Lindsey.
"Stevie, do you even know this kid? What if he is a pshyco killer? What if-"
"Would you stop that. We are not gonna talk about this here, alright?" Lindsey nods. "Especially not with him right over there." Stevie says even lower.
"I'm sorry." He says truthfully.
"I know, honey." Stevie rubs the side of his arm. "This is new for both of us, but we have to learn to compromise and deal with these sort of things together."
"I know." He kisses Stevie and Stevie pulls away.
"I'll go see if Ameera is ready to go." She attempts walking away.
"Wait." He pulls her back. "Are you gonna leave me with...him?" He motions his head in Osmond's way.
"Are you kidding me?" She whispers.
"What?" Lindsey responds.
"Just...ugh." She forms her hands as claws to his head. "Play nice and don't scare him, please. Give it like ten minutes and we'll be out, okay?" She walks off again going to her daughter's room. Lindsey sighs as he sees her dissapear.
