17 - Explanation

Amie's P.O.V

I packed my things and went home in silence with the others in front of me. Ayato's reaction wasn't so good, it made me feel bad. I never realized what I have done. We went inside, but Ayato stopped me.

"You and me, talk." He gave the only look who gave me shiver through my spine. I sighed quietly and followed after him to the cherry blossom trees. We stopped when he pulled up the necklace he gave me and studied it closely.

"Amie, please, tell me, why did you do that with him?" His words had no emotion, just emptiness. I was unsure how to answer and looked down to my hands. He spun around and pointed at me.

"Stop act like you didn't do anything, you did something really bad to piss me off." He growled annoyed and played around with the necklace. I took a deep breath and opened my mouth.

"I am sorry, I never realized what I did to you." I responded and bowed in front of him. He snorted and shook his head.

"Sorry won't be enough for you, you know why I gave this necklace to you? Because you were my best friend and I loved you back then." He kept going with no response from me.

"And what kind of thanks do I get? Yeah, this. I found you, I helped you through everything, I gave  you clothes, food, help, school, everything so you can survive." I could hear some sorrow in his voice when he talked.

"What does it even matter? You had an secret relationship that I wasn't aware of, you didn't tell me, you just 'No, let's ditch Amie and be together with Leyla.' Was it she was more perfect? Did she had something that I didn't have? That's why you never talked to me about her?" Now it was my voice's turn to break down into pieces. He stood there, dumbstruck and sighed.

"I am sorry about not telling about her to you, I was kind of scared."

"Scared? I don't even think so, why didn't you ditch me from the beginning?" I accused him with my finger and raised my eyebrows. Once again, he kept his mouth shut and crossed his arms over his chest.

"I told you, I was scared." He explained and waved with his arms. I rolled my eyes and shrug my arms.

"So our love didn't mean anything to you? Actually, I don't even care about what happened to you and the others in the past, it's not my problem, I understand that you had mother issues. I never knew what the others were up to." 

"And besides, now I understand everything, Ayato, you are using me, right? Fulfill your mother's wish, to become the next head in the family and marry with the mortal." I spun around and shook my head.

"Am I right?" He went silent and shook his head.

"No, you're wrong, I really love you, Amie, but why this?" Now it was my turn to remain silent. Suddenly, I felt a cold chain surround my neck.

"I think this belongs to you, Amie." Was the words he said before disappearing into thin air.
